“We stayed here for a night.
The price was great compared to everyone else close by. The room was very clean. I checked the mattress upon arrival, and it looked brand new. The tv worked. The shower was hot. And the AC and heat both came in handy during the fall weather. No one bothered us while we were there. It was a great stay.
Booking was a little strange. I called ahead, and the lady was having a hard time understanding me and we kept getting disconnected. She ended up just taking my name and number and we booked when we got there at midnight. They didn’t want to book over the phone which is fine. I just wanted to make sure we had somewhere to stay for the night.”
“I hope they read these reviews. I wish I can say I've been to this location. But, I have been to the Niles location back in 1978-79. See I worked for them (I was 17). I loved it and the store was always clean and the products always fresh. So happy Bill is still in business and doing well. I'm in Florida now but if I'm ever in Ohio again, I need to stop at this new location and check in out! Oh, and Bill, I still have the scar from when I cut my index finger on the meat slicer! Lol!”
“For such a small hotel, in such a remote/middle of nowhere area, it’s quite impressive. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms (and all facilities on the premise) are clean, tidy, and fully functional. Breakfast was fresh every morning, with a considerably decent variety of options. Keep in mind it IS a small place, with a smaller breakfast buffet, BUT considering how small it is, the options, variety, and freshness were actually quite impressive.
Some other reviewers complained about rooms being outdated or not clean, or “noisy”, but I actually found ours to be quite comfortable, VERY clean, and relatively modern for such a remote place. Also, a certain level of noise is normal in hotels. Guests should keep in mind that this is not a fancy “five-star” resort; some noise and minor wear & tear is completely normal for a hotel. Aside from hearing a few people walk by every now & then, I found it to be very quiet.
This is a small town and a middle-of-nowhere hotel, and it’s very impressive for such a location. I travel extensively & frequently and after decades of traveling & hundreds of hotels, you learn to know what to expect. This Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations. The amenities are great; a great selection of TV channels, free WiFi, microwave, coffee machine (ours used k-pods), and a fridge. Plenty of outlets (both in-wall plugs and USB), ironing board, iron, safe, and a better-than-average quality hairdryer. For a business trip, a solo or couple’s pass-through, road trip, trucker’s rest stop, etc, it serves all its purposes.
I also fed some stray kittens nearby and they were very compassionate about it. I appreciated that very much; these people are real humans, not a “we don’t care” corporation. It really gives you that warm small-town feel and makes you feel like you’re part of the family.
Safety: Very safe and quiet.”
