I turned in my rental car on the 2nd of March, only to be billed and told that the vehicle was NOT turned in until the 4th of March. Then talked to disrespectful bye Customer Service. I Will NOT use their service again. And I have my flight itinerary to show l left the Airport on the 2nd of March.

Overcharged. Returned rental on time but was charged for an extra day. Avis response, that's the way it is. Don't rent here!

I originally rented an intermediate size car, as I was going to be using it to drive a 3hr round trip and wanted to make sure I was getting good gas milage. When I arrived there was only one car in the lot available to rent which was a Toyota Tacoma truck. Not only was this the only car but if I would have showed up 5 min later there would be no vehicle for me (which is what happened to the next customer). I dont understand how you can accept a reservation and not have a vehicle for the person! I could have not taken the truck and waited 30-40 min for the next one but they couldnt even tell me what that vehicle was. I give Avis many tries to make things right but they always let me down.

We received a dirty car. The windows were so dirty we had to stop and wash them all. There was also a hole in the carpet under the gas pedal.By the way, when we picked up the car it was drizzling rain outside. We were given the key at the desk inside the building and sent out to the lot to get the car ourselves. There was no attendant to look over the car with us. We even discussed the hole in the carpet and the high mileage on such a new car.When we returned the car this morning we returned it to an employee who said the car was fine. We received an email saying it was ok.Next we received an email telling us we returned the car damaged, smoke, stains and dog hair. I asked for photo’s and requested to see the car. They photos of what was already in the car. Also, we don’t smoke. There was dog hair in the back floor, but we never used the back seat so we didn’t notice it.I showed the lady that brought us the car and the lady at the front desk that I had no hair on my clothes. I explained that we do not smoke. My husband also tried to explain. The young lady who brought the car told us that there was nothing she could do and she had to charge us to detail the car. I asked the lady at the dest to please look up the person who previously rented the car to see if there was a report already. She said she would. The other lady told us it didn’t matter because she had to detail the car. I asked her if she had photo’s of the car before it was given to us. She said no they don’t do that.We are very upset and disappointed. I have never had a problem with a car rental before. This is extremely insulting. I will file a formal complaint and report this to Priceline, and the better business bureau. This is the worst car rental experience that I have ever had.I will never rent a car from Avis again and I will discourage my friends, family and others from using this company.

I have rented with Avis many times, usually from the Cleveland airport. This time the Cleveland airport was out of cars(!), so I got a ride down to the Akron-Canton airport and rented there.I had reserved a hybrid vehicle, but when I got to the Akron airport, they told me they had no hybrids, and gave me an SUV instead.Then, at the time of checkout, the representative, who was very friendly if , I came to find out, either misinformed or mistaken, told me that there was a mileage charge added to my rental that would drop off on return of my car.When I returned my car, I was charged an additional $118. I contacted customer service, and they informed me that the extra cost was due to the amount of miles I drove during the rental.It was a very disappointing experience, due to the mileage charge not only being mis-represented, but also that I was given a different car that should have come with unlimited mileage, but the customer service agent I spoke to after my card was charged was unwilling and/or unable to assist me with reimbursing me for a charge I should not have had to pay in the first place.

The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because it isn't their fault that Priceline didn't know they don't take my type of credit card. Also, the other woman working there seemed nice. The older woman I dealt with wasn't. She didn't even say hello. Just Avisprbuget came out sounding like one word. Took me a few times to realize she was asking me which company. After I answered Avis and tried to show her my reservation on my phone. She ignored me and asked for my credit card and driver's license. I gave them to her. She immediately shoved them back at me and said we don't take that card. I she hadn't really looked at it and emphasized that it was, in fact, a Credit card, not debit. She said we don't take this and to contact the reservation company (which I understand, they made the arrangements, not Avis). The thing is, she didn't offer help or ask if I had another credit card. There wasn't anyone waiting behind me. She just went back to her computer. I panicked because I had already paid for the rental. If you go to AKC, AVOID Avis. Go to the Alamo, Enterprise & National stand. They were very helpful and friendly even before I ended up renting a car from them. They accepted my credit card and got me into a rental while an agent with the reservation company took care of canceling my Avis rental and getting my money back.

Recently had a reservation messed up by another company. Avis staff at Canton Akron Airport were fantastic. Got me another rental car on the spot at a great rate. A great experience and I can't recommend them highly enough. Kudos to the staff and thanks!
