I rented a trencher to install 12 awg landscape lighting cable. The trencher did OK on my side yard. Not so good on the front yard where trenching was more difficult due to tree roots. In fact, the big circular type blade on the trencher just would stop when it faced any resistance. Not good! The trencher was very heavy and hard to steer. It took every ounce of strength that we (70 year old very fit guy and I) had to get the trencher up the ramps into the pick up truck. The guys that work there were nice but I did not have a good experience with the trencher. Rented a Ditch Witch from a different place the next day to finish the job.
