About Northeast Ohio SPCA Pet Shelter
Northeast Ohio SPCA Pet Shelter is a no-kill, non-profit organization providing a safe haven for abandoned and adoptable pets. The shelter receives many puppies and kittens, as well as dogs and cats, through transfers, often from other locations. The animals are described as spoiled and treated with love and care by the staff and volunteers, who go above and beyond. The kennels are cleaned non-stop and the facility is noted as very clean by some, though another visitor felt it needed a deep cleaning. The dogs are walked outside and fed high-quality food like Purina Pro Plan.
The shelter operates with a part-time veterinarian and vet techs. Some reviews express concern over the lack of a full-time, on-duty veterinarian and instances of improper medical care. It is acknowledged that common shelter illnesses like kennel cough occur, and some animals arrive with conditions like parvo or heartworm, which the staff then treats. However, there are reports of adopted puppies testing positive for other illnesses, leading to a feeling that the shelter does not always sell healthy animals. The shelter appreciates donations of food, blankets, and newspapers. While some reviewers highly recommend it as a nice place to find a pet, others, despite loving their adopted animal, do not recommend it due to health concerns.

Staff is very helpful and friendly 😊 got the opportunity to walk and hold one of the dogs. Also one of the cleanest shelters I’ve been to, keep up the good work and continue to have great energy 🫶🏾

I stopped by to donate, blankets, towels and sheets.
Please Spay and Neuter your pets!!!!!
It was sad walking thru and seeing so many puppies and kittens in cages.
Humans have to do better, and be RESPONSIBLE pet owners. Animals don't belong in cages.
