ing: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I recently visited Summit Salon for highlights, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The staff was friendly and professional and my stylist was skilled, attentive, and passionate. She created natural-looking highlights that perfectly complemented my features. The price was incredibly reasonable and the service was top-notch. They used high-quality products and I’m so happy with how my hair looks! I left feeling beautiful and rejuvenated. Highly recommended for an exceptional experience!

I have been going to Summit Salon Academy for approximately 5yrs. I have never left unhappy with my service. I am always impressed with the results I get, especially since they are students and just learning. And that says a lot about the instructors. I usually get my roots and or highlights. The students have always been knowledgeable about the service I receive and extremely professional. My most recent visit was not a disappointment either. My hair looks amazing❣️. I recommend Summit to all my friends. The price is perfect too!

I really wish I didn’t have to leave a review like this because the students working here are so nice and talented, but I had a really bad experience here today. Basically, I booked an appointment for a balayage and a cut and then was told by an instructor that I made the appointment wrong and that’s not what they thought I was there for, even though I know I did book it for that. Apparently there has been a reoccurring issue with instances like this. My hair appointment ended up being over 5 hours long, they switched me between several stylists, and I even had to sit and wait for an hour while everyone took a lunch (which I totally understand the importance of lunch breaks, but I wish they had planned me around it). They didn’t even cut my hair after being there for 5 hours, and I didn’t have time to stay longer for them to fit a cut in. They ended up charging me full price for the balayage and said that they’ll charge me full price for the cut as well if I come back tomorrow. The prices here are fairly reasonable, so I didn’t complain about that, and the balayage actually came out really well. I just wish that this was more professionally handled and I wish they didn’t make me initially feel like the misunderstanding was my fault. It seemed like they only realized towards the end of my appointment that it actually wasn’t my fault and then they became more apologetic. I left here today feeling very heartbroken since I don’t get my hair done often and I wanted this to be a special treat for myself, and the mix-up just made me feel really imposing and uncomfortable. I’m really grateful that the students were very kind and adaptable, though.

My hair has never looked better, I’m amazed at how good it looks! The students did a great job, the atmosphere was fun and friendly. Can’t wait to come back and get my roots touched up.

This school is plagued with problems that make it a toxic and miserable environment for students. I could probably write a book about the things I experienced as a student in their Esthetics program, but here are the highlights. To begin with, the staff at this school is unprofessional and petty. Instead of focusing on teaching and creating a supportive learning environment, they seemed to enjoy using their power to bully and belittle students. Their actions created unnecessary difficulties, making my experience stressful and unpleasant. An instructor even went as far as threatening physical violence against a student, saying that she would wait in the parking lot after class to beat her up. It was alarming to witness this behavior, and I was even more shocked that the school actually considered keeping the instructor employed. It wasn't until a parent threatened to call the local news channels that the school took action! No student should have to endure threats of violence from their instructors. One of the cosmetology instructors enjoyed subjecting students to hazing. On Monday mornings, she would force students to participate in childish dances (the chicken dance and the hokey-pokey). Refusal to participate resulted in her yelling at us and assigning a 500 word essay as punishment. This sort of behavior caused a negative impact on my mental health (which was already not the best considering I was working full-time while attending school part-time). I was also deeply concerned to see one of my instructors arrive to class intoxicated and reeking of booze on several occasions. The staff’s behavior as a whole was consistently unprofessional and unacceptable. It's also unacceptable that the school charges over $13K for a program that doesn't provide adequate education or training. It's clear that the school prioritizes making money off student services. They forced students to provide services that we weren't adequately trained in or comfortable with performing without an instructor's supervision. This was stressful and not only put me & other students at risk of making mistakes, but also put our clients at risk! We hardly ever had the supplies, tools, or equipment needed to perform those services. But nobody seemed to care about that either. This school is a waste of time and money because very little actual education goes on here. So little, in fact, that a student in my class would often work her job remotely on Zoom while sitting in class (which demonstrates the lack of engagement and instruction here).I think there would probably be more negative reviews posted, but many students in my class were afraid to leave negative reviews due to the impact it could have on their job prospects. I felt it was important to share my experience as a warning to others who may be considering this program- it was NOT what was sold to me on my tour with admissions. I had high hopes for the Esthetics program, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete failure. The lack of knowledgeable & professional educators made the learning experience miserable for me and many other students.I urge the school owners to take responsibility for the problems at their school by spending more time there and replacing the staff with better educators (who are fully licensed & trained to teach). They also need to ensure that their clinic is stocked with enough supplies & functional equipment. I really hope they take the necessary steps to stop this circus and start providing future students with the quality education they deserve.

I thoroughly enjoy working at SSA - perrysburg, the directors & the team I work with are genuinely amazing people to work with and BRILLIANT artists in this industry! I am so grateful to be working with the future of esthetics and enjoy helping them master their skills to become great estheticians. I would recommend SSA to anyone!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The worst school ever. The teachers don’t care about you at all. They talk about students/teachers to other students. The higher ups are very rude!!! Extremely rude for no reason. The owners most likely don’t know what’s going on. They’re also rude. I’m surprised they have 4 stars w all the bad reviews I seen. The only good reviews I see are from when the school made the students/educators post good reviews. I only recommend this school for if you want to move because they have the most hours out of most of the other schools. Other than that I wouldn’t recommend this school because ive heard all beauty school is the same. I would rather you guys save the torture of longer hours with teachers/higher ups who don’t care about you or your learning at all !

Just my honest opinion. I went in for a balayage, I felt like the instructors should have helped the student with guidance. The student kept asking me my thoughts and opinions on how to do the process. The instructor would walk over for 2 seconds and walk away before watching the student do the steps correctly. I ended up coming back for a correction, again I felt like the instructor helped little to none. I don't blame the student at all but my hair still isn't right. Then I came back for a pedicure about a month later... this was the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. Lasted maybe 10-15 minutes, the student this time seem uninterested and the instructor never checked her work. They were also out of a few things they need for the pedicure so just skipped doing things I expected (foot scrub, lack of polish choices, drip dry, never touched my cuticles) the polish was so thick it hardly dried and smudge.

I would highly recommend against trusting this school with your hair. I was scheduled for a partial highlight and haircut (included the picture I showed her). My stylist was late to start and 3 hours later, I had wet hair, no haircut, and was being rushed out because they were closing. I completely understand that the students are learning, so I wasn't upset about the time it took/not getting the haircut… until I got home, dried my hair and saw the results. When I called and spoke to the instructor she said that they usually check the student's work, but because they were closing and my hair was wet, she wasn't able to check mine. I was hoping for a refund, but they only offered for me to come back to have a different student fix it at their next available afternoon appointment in 1.5 weeks. I called again and left a message inquiring about a refund to at least cover part of what it is going to cost to have someone correct it sooner. Unfortunately, I missed the call back and when I returned the call, I was informed that the woman I should speak with would be back from 8-11am on Monday. I asked the employee who I was speaking with if there was any chance of getting refunded and she said no, but that if I want to move forward with the correction, I can discuss it on Monday.Again, I understand that the students are learning and mistakes happen, but I would expect the instructors to step in and help when things go wrong, rather than ignoring the issue.

I'm writing for a friend because she is physically at a breaking point with you people. The esthetician program is a literal f****** s*** show. From the teacher leaving not doing her job teaching, to the entire school.. Zero organization. I have no idea what this school is doing but it's for sure not teaching these people. And expecting them to pay 12,000?!?! What a f****** joke. The cosmetology teacher is probably the only one trying her hardest to teach these people.. The head of this school is a f****** joke. Superiors yelling at the teachers and the students. It's a god damn joke. I'd never ever ever come to this school after the horror stories I've both seen and heard. In short, if you don't want to be f***** over by people who probably don't even know what they are doing look elsewhere for your educational needs. These poor people paying money to go to a half assed academy.. You'd be better off going to another academy to learn and actually gain industry knowledge.

Poor experience. I don't even go here and I can tell the teachers/professors are all about the drama. I have heard from MANY students that they are treated likes it is an elementary school. Adults are paying money out of their pockets to be mistreated and belittled. Act like adults, and act like professionals. How you treat your students reflects on how they act at an appointment. Do better Summit Salon. Or get better teachers.

This school is truly disappointing. I am a former student, and I can 100% say I do not recommend Summit Salon. I had a few educators who truly cared about us, and on the opposite end, there were educators who just wanted us to work. I was hesitant on making a review until recently I found out that the school has allowed one of my friends to take a leave of absence instead of dealing with a bullying problem. It is June now, and when I was in school back in January, this student was dealing with a really bad bullying problem. The parents were involved. Instead of fixing the problem, being there for the student that is being bullied, the school essentially said she can take a leave until the other student graduates. That’s only one example of the horrible experiences we deal with there. Most any student who has graduated there can say the same. Such a disappointment, because it has the potential to be a great school.
