“It's always a great place to go! Their fish are always very healthy, and I've never had any die other than after years of having them. Same with their hamsters. Grooming is good, too!!!”

“The store is awesome great supply of bird items...If in need of just about anything for your yard or your animals they have it here. The girls are great at work here very helpful I go there about once a week. Great prices”
“No complaints. Helpful workers and great selection. I’ve gotten parts for my mower, though their mower service selection is smaller. When the chicks are in the store it’s always a hit with the kids.”
“I had a really positive experience with Meyer Hatchery. Background - three weeks ago I got three bantam chicks from a local feed store here near Portland Oregon. I thought getting them at the feed store instead of ordering them directly would mean less chance of a dead chick. I was mistaken. The chicks from the feed store obviously came from Meyer, as Meyer seems to be the ONLY hatchery sexing Bantams, and they were breeds available from Meyer at the time. Unfortunately about 48 hours after bringing my three chicks home from the feed store, we lost one. In retrospect I would have done some things differently. I would have put the food closer to the brooder/heat plate. I would have scattered some food and made sure the chicks were eating it. They were drinking water and pecking at the food, so I thought they were doing good, which they seemed to be until the one got sleepier and sleepier and then passed away the second night. I wanted at least three chickens and the feed store sold out and weren't getting any more. So I took a gamble and ordered three directly from Meyer. This was a more expensive route and I was really worried that the shipping situation would be hard on the chicks. Obviously they had been shipped to my local feed store, but ordering them directly was something I had never done before so it felt stressful. I reached out to my local post office and made sure they had my phone number ahead of time, but that wasn't really necessary since Meyer had my phone number on the shipping box as well. I received a tracking number on Monday around 4pm. There was an update when the package arrived at the airport in Ohio later that afternoon, and then nothing that day or the next morning. I assumed the chicks were still sitting in Ohio or possibly on a plane, or possibly at the Portland airport. However, at 9am on Tuesday I received the call from my local post office that the chicks were there and we went right away to pick them up. They were packaged so lovingly, in a little nest of straw with a heatpack underneath of them. They were definitely exhausted, one more than the other two, but all three drank water and seemed to eat a little food and then I just left them alone for a few hours under the brooder plate. I continued to pretty much just leave them be, checking to make sure they were eating and drinking, and by this evening, about 36 hours after they arrived here, they are strong and eating and drinking a ton and just doing really really well. I will definitely order directly in the future. They definitely recovered faster and got stronger faster (and obviously without the loss we incurred the first time). I was SUPER impressed that they arrived here in less than 24 hours from the time I first got the tracking number. Ohio to Portland Oregon is far. If you have reservations about placing an order, I hope that this review puts your mind to ease. Let them adjust when they first arrive, I definitely recommend a brooder plate as opposed to a light (I used a light on and off along with a brooder plate with the first batch), put the food and water right up against/under the brooder plate, and just let them rest for the first day/night/next day until they are settled and thriving. I am super appreciative that Meyer is offering sexed Bantams for my small city lot!”
