“First of all I would like to thank Dr. Shy and his wonderful staff for the care they gave my baby boy Buddy Smith. He was almost 17 when he went to Heaven 3 weeks ago. I miss him dearly But His body was tired and God needed him. Over the past year he was sick on several occasions but Dr. Shy and his wonderful staff always seem to manage to keep him going so that I could Continue to make memories with him for a while longer. Barboursville veterinarian clinic has some of the greatest ,most compassionate and most caring people I have ever known. Dr. Shy Is one of the best Vets that I have ever met. I want to thank you Dr. Shy for being so caring and so great with Buddy, it will never be forgotten, thank you. I want to give a special thanks to Kyana one of the technicians that Always made Buddy feel "Special". When I would take him over to the clinic and he was sick, the minute he would see Kyana his eyes would light up as if to say " l got this there's my friend ". Thank you so much Kyana for being Buddy's caregiver and friend it will never be forgotten. And I want to give a Special thanks to Jamie the receptionist. Every time I would call in a panic because he was sick, she always seem to be very prompt at helping me to get him in, so that he would feel better. Thank you so much Jamie it will never be forgotten. And to the rest of the staff Thank you all for all the care and compassion you gave to Buddy when he was there in your care, it will never be forgotten. Buddy's last year on this earth was good because of Dr. Shy and his staff. Thank you from Buddy and from me, from the bottom of my ❤️. “My elderly cat was VERY sick and I called five or six vets and no one could get him in. I called Animal Care Clinic and I can't tell you how very glad I did. They had me bring him in right in. The staff IS amazing, and that includes the vet. I felt listened to and there was no attempt to upsell me, which is what I usually experience at the vet. I highly recommend this place. I would give ten stars if that were an option!”
“My Chihuahua was acting strange, panting , not acting herself at all. I called her normal vet whom she has seen since 6 weeks old, Proctorville Animal , they told me the urgent care was booked up for that day , (I called at 1pm) they said if your that worried take her to the ER. I know places are and get busy but I thought it odd that “urgent care” was pre booked even for the evening at 1pm , I have 4 dogs and a cat that we have had in their care : spent 1000s of dollars….called Chesapeake Veterinary and they told me to bring her in immediately, took their time with her , watched her behavior , staff was super nice and helpful and welcoming. Needless to say all 5 of my fur babies will be now be switched to Chesapeake for all their care and needs. Highly recommend. Oh and their prices were so much more affordable!!!!!”
“I followed Dr Ellis and a couple of her crew members to South Huntington Animal Hospital. She is my hero. I had a nine day old kitten that was born without a bladder. She did surgery to create a bladder for him. Now nine years latter he is a happy, healthy, strong male kitty. I will always follow Dr Ellis.”
“Best vet in the Huntington area hands down. Used Dr. Olson for 20+yrs now. Sends appt reminders for your pets, condolence cards when you lose a pet, and he’s just a really nice down to earth guy. Plus all his staff are just as helpful and supportive.”

“I have used the Equine center for several years. Dr Walker is very knowledgeable about our cattle and other animals. When he leaves our farm I have always learned something new from him. Staff is very helpful when needing a question answered via phone.Very thankful that Dr Walker and staff are willing and able to serve our community with treating large animals. I would highly recommend their facility.”

“I was hesitant to have my dog neutered by anyone but my regular vet, but I’m glad I had it done at HFA. They were very crowded when we brought him in but they were so efficient and fast. When we picked him up, he was so excited and jumping around, you’d never know he had just had surgery. He actually acted like he enjoyed his time there! Lol Now, the next day, he’s doing great acting like his normal, happy, goofy, energetic self. I’d also like to commend the friendly, efficient staff.”

“Had an emergency trauma situation with my elderly cat, the folks here helped her overcome absolutely all the odds and I will forever be grateful for their care. They called me about every half hour with her card when I first dropped her off. They were so attentive to her, they would love on her for me and always let me see her when I came to check on her. I cannot thank Dr Dyer, tall Emily, Delaney, and the front desk staff for helping me keep calm and feel reassured that my girl was in the very best hands. These people will always be my vet.”
