  Consumer beware!!! I also would have given this company a zero! If you value your families safety stay away!!! I had 3 suspected propane leaks that I had mentioned in March of 2024, 2 at the tank and one at my back door. They assured me that wasn't possible, because they inspect every time they fill the tank so I dismissed my concerns.Then I called for propane on November 18th and I told them I was certain there we're two propane leaks at my buried tank because there were bubbles when the valves/nuts were sprayed with soapy water. They told me that's how it was supposed to operate to which I replied, "I dont think so!" I also told them I smelled propane at my back door too. I requested an inspection when they came to deliver propane. The delivery man came on November 20th and knew nothing of my request but he agreed to inspect it. He then determined that indeed I had 2 leaks at the tank and therefore could not fill it. I spoke to Krytal, the manager several times and she insisted that she could do nothing for me until mid January and that I needed to get in line of a very long list of customers who needed their services. They did not even cap the tank off when they left leaving the leakage of the 150 gallons left in the tank. They refused to address the potentially very DANGEROUS SITUATION until mid January, so I called my local fire chief who advised me to call them back and insist that it be repaired, which I tried to do. Salem propane would not pick up any of my calls!!! I called my fire chief back and he advised me to call other propane companies to take care of it. However, none of these companies wanted to address the situation because it was not their installation, and I was not their customer. No one wanted to touch this issue with a ten foot pole. I called Superior/Salem propane's Troy office and the supervisor there stated this was not acceptable and sent a technician out that night. He dug up my lyft and removed it but was unable to do the needed repairs. He did cap off the tank & shut it down. He assured me they would take care of the situation, and it wouldn't cost me a dime because it was their issue. The next day I still had not heard back from the local manager with any plan to move forward. About 1:00 a new technician showed up. They brought me a temporary tank and bled, a 150 gallons of my propane into the temporary tank but they did not restore my dug up yard and lyft to their original state making matters worse for my existing equipment. Where there was only 5 inch of water in my lyft, was now completely filled 3 ft of water completely submerging my regulater. Now its frozen which has probably ruined my existing equipment. On top of it all, of course now they are sending me bills. I am a senior citizen and had major surgery in December. I am home recovering for the next 6-8 weeks. I ran out of propane during these frigid temperatures and called for a refill. They told me it would be ten days!!! So done with this company and probably lucky my home did not blow up like others on the news! I requested they remove their temporary tank by Friday December 27th. I'm sure that won't happen either.

  This places is a rip off 2 week and still nothing all ready paid for it abot to run out even tould them I have kids and nothing

  I never gave them the ok to fill my tank since they didn't tell me the price then the next day it was filled .50 cents more then Eichler. DONT USE SALEM PROPANE!! 😡

  I wouldn't have gave 1 star but had to to leave a review.
  I highly recommend you stay away from this company.
  They are nothing but problems.!
  And do nothing but hide behind someone else.
  It's always someone else with this company.

  When I was getting a refill, the delivery driver mentioned about installing a tank monitor and that they would see when I needed a refill so I don't have to call them.
  I told the driver that would be great, so she installed one on the tank. Then, in January, I ran out of propane. It took a couple of days for them to deliver, and I was told the monitor wasn't connecting to the network, but they fixed it. Then in April I ran out again so I then went to another company. I called on April 30th to have the tank removed and was told they would be out to get it. I called again on June 24th and was told they would be out to get it this week. But it is still sitting in my yard 2 months later.

  I've been trying to pay my bill for a long time now. I call and nobody picks up. The bill that I get every month does not hand my account number on it so I can't log into the portal to pay it. Apparently they don't care if they get paid.

  We have had a terrible experience with Salem Propane. We completely ran out of gas because of their negligence and they were impossible to connect with for weeks. They claim to operate around the clock with top-tier customer service - but we have experienced the total opposite. The folks that answer the phone (when you are lucky enough to reach someone) are rude and unknowledgeable. Emails to their customer service rep come back as undeliverable and their after-hours line is useless. We've literally NEVER received a single call or email from them after leaving multiple messages. We are now customers of another gas company and Salem has STILL not come out to pick up their empty tank. I call every week for a status update and hear the same excuse each time. Run far, far away.

  We've been with Salem Propane for 2 years. The first year was great, no complaints. This year has been a total nightmare. 3x this year we have ran out of fuel (we call at 30% per instructed). We call at 30%, 15%, 5%, and every single day after we are out. We are given excuse after excuse and told we will be scheduled the following day. We ran out on Monday, called first thing Tuesday morning. We were told it would be delivered first thing Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning came and went. We called and they assured us we were on the schedule and they would be there. Never showed. Called this morning and we were told they don't know what happened, we were on the route but it shows we weren't delivered with no reason as to why. They said they would call us back once they figured it out. It's been 2.5 hours with no call back. At least have the courtesy to be honest about deliveries so we can hook up a small tank to get us through! Our house has been 40 degrees for 3.5 days with no insight into when we might get propane. Most likely will not be returning customers next winter!

  Twice this year I have ran out of propane because of their excuses. My first season with the company was great, freidnly office staff, fast delivery of a tank, and they delivered within a few days of calling for a refill. This year I have called 3-4weeks ahead of needing a fill, got told I was added to the list, and nothing. This time I called when I got down to 5% to maybe get moved up on the list, still ran out on Monday, called Tuesday and was told I was on the schedule for Wednesday, Wednesday came and went and I'm still empty. Looking into an outdoor wood boiler now, then it'll be my own fault I have no heat.

  absolutely terrible service. I wasted 4 warm months trying to get a tank set. wasn't even going to leave a review till i saw them on the news "not able" to fill customers in the cold weather. the excuses were all the same as i heard. "one driver" "call offs" "emergency this, or that" if zero stars were possible, this would be it.

  I just saw WYTV'S story about how people are freezing because Salem Propane stopped making deliveries. When they FINALLY visited the place, someone gave the reporter a ton of feeble excuses. Its obvious that they are a failing company . I'm not surprised since they never gave a darn about their customers and cheated them for yearsAnd, NOW you are asking me to come to you to " resolve" issues???` I DID just that when you cheated me years ago and then you boldly said. " there's not a damned thing you can do." Well, guess what... your company is getting EXACTLY what it deserves now with the exposure you are getting.

  Seems to be a recurring theme where they have left many customers without heat. Yet they appear to be prioritizing local businesses that have JUST run out. The social media presence making excuses but not offering solutions speaks volumes to how they operate.

  Giving them 1 star because I cannot give negative stars. I am, I’m sorry, was an autofill, monitored customer. Meaning I should be filled BEFORE I run out. Last January I ran out of propane, so end of 2023 I called to get filled so the same did not happen. I was told I’d be added to a list. Here we are, the 3rd week of January, also the coldest yet of the winter, without propane. After calling the emergency line with no return call, I posted on a local page asking for help. Manager/owner reached out and promised if we stayed with their company, I would get filled “first thing in the morning”. It is now 5pm of that day, still with no propane. Sat here all day waiting to get filled. Oh did I mention it’s my husbands birthday so it ruined our plans? Now we sit and wait for our pipes to burst. So many excuses from Salem Propane. We changed our delivery order, drivers are working over time, no internet or phones, blah blah blah. Being someone’s propane company is a big deal. It’s not you can get filled by another company. It’s not like you can travel to the next Walmart and get what you need. Unprofessional and unreliable. We purposely went with Salem propane to support small/local business. Shame on us. Can’t wait to see this month’s electric bill for the many heaters we have running since I have small kids! Run!! Pick someone else.
