Too expensive. Lifeguards are trash. They made my 6 year old wear a life vest in the play area that had a water depth of 6 inches....Food & drinks: Expensive

We finished a weekend at the Kalahari and it was okay and a bit disappointing from the last time I was here. There were both positives and negatives to this trip but overall it seems Kalahari is just getting more greedy and more penny pinching and looks like they will just cut corners to save some money which is a disgusting look overall.Staff: Most staff we managed to encountered were very nice and helpful. With them getting rid of the front desk staff, it was very hard to get questions answered when we arrived or needed something. This is a very embarrassing look when a hotel is lacking hospitality.Check-in was okay. I do see the plus side of the charging to wristbands and I am glad you do have the option to not have them charge to the room. I just wish I was told that earlier but like I said before. No staffWater park: The water park was way too packed. Noticed some were closed when we went in which is understandable but from the last time I was here, it looks like one was converted into a private pool? Seriously??Also a note that renting a Cabana was showing prices near 400$ for the basic ones which feels very money hungry. Renting lockers was 25$ which is too much in my opinion.Other information I wish I knew was that towels can be rent out by anyone in the room, even if you only selected the non-charging wristbands. A kid nearly took off with a towel that was not theirs. I understand why they changed this and I love the newer towels but it makes me want to never plan on having a room here under my name due to this. If a towel is not returned that is 25$ that is charged to the room. Plus side is I did get a text when a towel was rented and returned which gives some piece of mind.Kids seem to still run in and play in the hot tubs with no regards, even when there are lifeguards stationed. If kids want to enjoy the hot tub, that is fine but it should be for relaxing, not playing in. Thankfully the 21+ hot tubs are still there and they do check ages.Wave pool seemed okay but was way to crowded every time we passed so we just never went in. It seems the tubes are no longer there, my guess is liability issues so that I can understand.Lazy river was awful and crowded. It felt like rush hour traffic in the lazy river with kids pushing and rushing past.Overall with the waterpark. It was okay but felt very crowded and was not very enjoyable having to worry about towels being taken. Seeing a small pool that kids would try to cross turn into a private pool is just awful. Space is already limited in the indoor areas as it is.Arcade: Biggest tip. Just dont go and do not do it. The prizes are awful and expensive with how little tickets you get. The ticket ratio to playing is awful. (Great example is skeeball which is fun to play, costs so much to play and rewards barely anything which is disappointing because I love playing skeeball). The crane machines are more rigged then the ones at your local Walmart. I had the claw close before hitting a prize. I had it drop the prize (like claw fully opening) in the wrong area. Likely lost 20$ on the broken crane machines alone (They would fix them, just for them to break within the next hour). They also shove all the prizes on the sides and the claw cannot reach that area so you play only to realize that the one you were going to go for is not reachable.Did the drop game with the ball. The Smaller one was a ripoff and didnt pay the jackpot out and it costs just as much as the bigger one and the bigger one gives more tickets.Ticket prizes are garbage for what you spend. you are better off telling your kid you will order them the prize they want off of amazon and likely save a few hundred dollars doing so.Will I go again: To be honest, as it is right now. No and I would not recommend it to anyone either. I will try my luck at a different place next time.

We stayed at the Sandusky OH location. It was absolutely not worth the money. No bell service to bring luggage to room.Pretty big ant infestation in room. They sent someone up to take care of it pretty quickly. We couldn't use the room for several hours as it was treated.Lifeguards ruined my 8 year old sons time by continuing to measure him as he swam in the SAME wave pool to ensure that he was tall enough to NOT use swimmies. And THEN on the final day a lifeguard tried to severely limit his enjoyment even more by making a new rule apply to him stating that he needed to stay within "arms reach" of his parents, because, in the lifeguards own words "that's how we treat all kids with disabilities here." ? (My son is on the autism spectrum - high function) No one knew how to get him something to identify him as being tall enough without the constant measuring. My son is an excellent swimmer, and the constant harassment really ruined his time and affected his esteem.Cut the heel of my foot on the sharp drain plug in the tub/shower of my hotel room. I'll try to include a pic of that injury. The blonde female manager at their on-site Italian restaurant glared at myself and my wife and family as we waited at the front of their restaurant waiting for them to find a table to accommodate us and our family Wonderfold wagon that we transport the kids around in. She continued the mean mugging through our meal. Our server Anthony was great and so was the food. They tout their wrist bands as a way to pay for your stay without carrying cash or cards. Sounds great right? Except if you rent a Cabana. If you do that, you then need your ID and the card you reserved it with when you get to the pool to check in. Oh yeah, at a certain point the bands stopped working for purchases. That's super convenient too when you're counting on being able to use them for purchases and you're REAL far away from your room where all of your credit cards are lol.The kiddie pool had Kalahari beach chairs wedged into different areas at tops and bottoms of slides that they were trying to designate as out of order. I mean I guess that's what they were there for. There were no signs stating it, and being that I only speak English I wasn't able to communicate with the lifeguards in that area who did not speak English as they marched around like stormtroopers stepping over kids as if they were human debris laying in their way. The chairs were more of a hazard than a safety measure. There were many attractions that were closed, in disrepair, or only partially operable during our stay.Had breakfast at their country kitchen type restaurant. It was great and so was our server Jennifer.I spent about 5k on this 4 day/3 night vacay. That was about 4 thousand too much.Last evening was our 1st night back at home from Kalahari and all 3 of my small children seem to have chemical irriation rashes and some sort of weird pink eye thing going on. In fact, my wife and I have the eye thing too. In addition to that, my 3 year old son vomited all through the night.I won't be back to Kalahari.

I had such a good time that we're planning a longer stay for the summer. The indoor water park is an adventure that my 6 year old absolutely loved. And the staff were all very attentive and sweet.

My family and I stayed for three (3) nights for spring break. We had the basic room, which was adequate. There are nicer room options, but you will pay more. Ive been to Great Wolf Lodge and what sets it apart is the food options and spa. It has a very nice italian restaurant, bar/grill, pastries/bakery, ice cream bar and pizza and sandwiches - plenty of variety. My kids enjoyed the arcade, hall of mirrors and 3D movie shooting experience as well as the water park activities. Overall, i consider it a top destination option if you are looking to take the family for waterpark and arcade fun. During the summer there will be outside activities such as petting zoo, zip lines and water slides. I definitely will have no problem returning if my kids asked.

My daughter loves kalahari we've stayed here a few times on her birthday. The customer service this trip was great. Jane k checked us in and was very accommodating. We spent all day at the park til it closed then went for food. It was late when we got in our room. We had two beds and a sofa bed. There was blood on all the sheets and pillows. I called reported to front desk they sent someone to change sofa bed and pillows after they left we discovered it was on the other sheets I called back down but because of full capacity and low staff no one came to change the other sheets. I took the sheets off the bed and my kids just slept on top of the comforter. I'm convinced whoever cleaned the room cut themselves and was not aware or something because the room looked clean when we checked in. I paid over $600 for a room +tax, I spent about $400 on games and food, and I'd expect 5 star experience at this rate. I was only refunded $200 as a sorry for your experience. I've worked in the hotel industry for many years, even as a Executive secretary for the GM. I surely would've accommodated a guest of my magnitude with a comped room or something towards a future visit. But hey I won't complain all in all other than that my daughter enjoyed her birthday at kalahari. It is just too expensive for this type of service. Bloody sheets is disgusting and hazardousRooms: Rooms are niceNearby activities: LotsFood & drinks: Lots of restaurants near by

Before 2021 you could get a room here for about $100 per night. Now it is nearly $700.00!!! Yes, there have been room updates and such, but the overall experience is as it was since my very first visit in 2010. This place is now a hard pass. I'm just glad my kids have a waning interest in going here.

The resort is huge and has so many things to do. During the winter the indoor water park gets packed since there aren’t any outdoor options for guests to use. The game room and activity options are fun, albeit pricey.

I am so disappointed with Kalahari resorts!! This is usually our favorite place to attend once a year. We usually come here with our 3 kids. This was our Easter surprise to our children. My room, I was very unpleased with as it truly didn't look that clean. My husband also had scheduled us appointments at the spa. We both had a facial and a pedicure. I was booked for 12:30 he was booked for 3. My son who also is special needs wanted to be with his mom so I just thought me and my husband will switch our appointments should not be a problem because we had the same appointments. The receptionist who was the spa manager acted like it was super difficult to accommodate she seemed very frustrated we switched. Then she just told him to go to the waiting room where he sat with wet clothes (everyone else with robes). My husband has never been to the spa did not know where anything was. So he went to the manager and asked can he get a robe her response was your just getting a facial you don't need a robe. He responded well I'm cold can I get one? Then she just said go get one out of the locker room. Totally rude and harsh. My husband had to go on a hunt for a robe by just asking a new worker because he needed a bigger one. He did his facial everything was fine. Went back out waiting for his pedicure ( 15 min went by and no one came to get him) so he went back to the manager who then said Monica is supped to get the pedicure which he then says I told you we switched can I go. She rudely says I don't have a problem with that. My pedicure was very basic still had dead skin all over my feet and also she finished 15 minutes early so I had 30 minutes cut from pedicure that is 85 for 20 minutes. He could not relax the whole time because he was frustrated. Also we all got full body rashes from the chlorine which has never happened before anytime we came. We spent 1000 dollars to be so disappointed and beyond frustrated on Easter at that. We most likely will never come back!!
