Rooms always smell fresh and clean. Great location far enough away from the traffic of Cedar Point next to a nature preserve and right by the back entrance of the park. Owner is very friendly and the rates are fair. There is a railroad crossing across the street and a loud train horn blows every 40 minutes or so. I heard they have earplugs but I enjoy the sound, especially the rumble of a train, doesn’t keep me awake. The pool is fresh and clean and cold. Donuts and coffee in the office in the morning if you’re up early enough. Always a nice stay.Rooms: Rooms are small and retro, originally built in the 50s? Flatscreen TV and mini fridge

honestly there is sweet lotus esprit v8 in the lot sometimes. if you catch it in the corner of your eye while driving down U.S. 6, go turn around and check it out. one amazing view of a beautifully designed piece of art with a really cool owner to back it up. other than the car, place is very quiet and peaceful and a nice spot to stay at if you don't want to stay in the cedar point hotels.

If you love family and you love america, then you will love this place, still family owned, passing through the generations. its got a perfect location, just outside the crazy busy-ness, but right next to it for convenience. great location for cp. there is a train that runs by frequently. they are never long and theyre usually pretty brief on the horn. if youre running the ac and exhausted from the park, you will never notice, we slept right through them:) if its cooler, just run the fan on the ac. everything is wonderfully vintage, and in great shape and kept very clean! beautiful pool for cooling off, and beautiful big trees make for a great landscape. the owner and his pup are wonderfully delightful. for such a great price and location, we have found our spot! wonderful doughnuts and coffee. family run businesses always get the best effort and the most love, and this is certainly one of those places! cant wait to visit again!Rooms: neat clean vintage rooms, i love it! very comfy blankets. everything u need right thereNearby activities: right near cedar points fastest end of day exit, near restaurants, shops, and gas stationsSafety: very safe area.Noteworthy details: great friendly service that you dont find in fake mainstream places that arent any nicer. i wouldnt pick any other spot for cp vacations

Yes it's nostalgic and hearing the family history is cool. The rooms on the other hand are horrible. Cleaning is minimal. Mold and mildew on cracked tile, on the walls under peeling wallpaper, molded floors from leaking water. Screens do not fit the windows so expect bees and insects to visit you. Bedding is a joke. Stained pillows and mattresses. Mattresses are old and sunken in. The rooms smell moldy and musty. If you are ok with gross, you'll be fine. The location is great for Cedar Point and nearby eateries.

Very cool place with a lot of history! Steve was awesome and helped us out when we were in a pinch. This place should be the focal point of the town and is treasure that should be protected. It supported Cedar Point when the park was just starting. A throwback to simpler times when I use to travel with my mom and dad!Rooms: Clean place to stay for the night.Nearby activities: Cedar Point

The owner was incredibly nice!! My boyfriend and I stayed here during colossal con and had a great time! The pool was nice, the property was beautiful, and it was in a good location. The room price was also the best value by far during the convention when most hotels raise their prices like crazy. Will definitely be staying here again!

This property is amazing!Close to nature yet still convenient to town. Steve is an amazingly kind person. The rooms are very clean and the motel area itself is welcoming. Definitely a gem!Don't forget to ask about the back path. A must do, especially around dusk. I have never stayed at a place ( from coast to coast) with as much hospitality and charm as the Maples.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel near Cedar Point. This place was absolutely perfect for that. Just the basics are here. But that's all we needed. The hotel looks like it is in good shape. We had no issues at all. Steve, the owner, was extremely hospitable. Great guy. I enjoyed talking to him. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to Cedar Point. It's about 5 minutes away by car.

The owner is such a humble and kind person. The rooms were built around the 1930s and have a kind of vintage or rustic feel. There's a small outdoor pool open until 10 and he puts out doughnuts, fresh fruit, and coffee in the morning. Staying here is a more of an intimate and interpersonal experience, and not some industrial-big business-impersonal transaction. I'd 100% choose this family-owned motel over some big chain brand any day of the week. ?

If I could leave no stars I would! Steve the “Owner” is a joke. We were given a dirty room, trash on the dresser in the bath room, dirty towels on the floor and ,with no bedding on the bed. No fridge, no microwave. Steve “upgraded” us to a new room only to try and charge us more for the upgrade 2 days into our stay. Never have we felt so uncomfortable in our hotel stays. The upgraded room had a a trash bag with duct tape on the broken bathroom Shower wall. Stains on curtains, lampshades. Fridge did not work to keep my medication cold either. Bugs in the ice chest outside and no bag to put ice in the dusty ice chest. Please avoid this hotel. Owner will ask for a good review even after getting nasty with you.

Great place. Clean, affordable, and pet friendly. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. My dog loved walking around the property. Great place if you're here for baseball too! It's just a few minutes away from the baseball complex, and very convenient for all the attractions in the area

This is a very cute, small, nostalgic motel. The location is by some railroad tracks, so probably a no-go for the light sleepers but it does overlook a barnyard, meadows and woods. It is located close to both roads into Cedar Point (Causeway and Chaussee) and easily accessible for visitors to the park. The management is friendly. The pool is cool and clean. The atmosphere is very retro. If you are looking for a little place to relax close to the amusement park, it is a great option. It is also very close to several hiking trails and parks if that is of interest (Sheldon’s Marsh, Osborne Park, and Eagle Point), as well as a miniature railway and some public canoe and kayak landings.

Stayed here for the weekend. A cute old school look to it! I loved the fact that it was truly a family owned business. The owner was extremely nice! If you want something very modern, this is not the place for you. Coffee and donuts every morning in the office. Wifi worked great, plenty of hot water. The pool wasn't open while I was there so I can't comment on that part. There is a train track right across the street so if your a light sleeper, it might bother you. Overall I loved this place and would definitely support this business again!

What a great little gem! So old school. Steps away from everything, yet you feel like you are far away from the hustle and bustle. Awesome and friendly owner, Steve, and his family of felines make you feel so welcome and part of the family. Nice comfortable rooms and pool. Very reasonably priced. I could not recommend another place to stay other than The Maples.
