I’m so grateful for how quickly we were able to get in for an appointment! The staff is extremely friendly and did a great job answering questions, did a thorough exam, and made our kitty feel safe and comfortable the entire visit. So happy we have such an excellent vet and top notch care here!

Dr Welsh treated my 13 yr old cat for hyperthyroidism with I -131 in August. It was such an easy process and he is doing so well. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend if you are considering this treatment instead of pilling a cat twice a day. He is so much more like his old self.

I loved meeting with the Dr who got down on the ground to get to know our Sophie. He was super personable. PLUS, the two techs who gave her cheese spray! What a treat. You guys are amazing. Thank you!

Just visited SHAH on Friday for a regular checkup for my cat. The whole process was so smooth. I filled out a questionnaire the night before, and included my questions and comments. We needed regular shots, I had a question about my (giant) cat's weight and if it was too much (turns out he's just a fabulously freakishly big kitty, maybe a tad overweight), and I wanted to microchip my majestic fluffy overlord. On arrival, easy free parking with lots of room between cars to get in and out on the day I went. Signs direct you to walk around to the front of the building to enter, and we were greeted by name and taken right back to the examining room. The process of you and your pet passing through the building is choreographed and built around you and your pet, to minimize time and discomfort for you both. All three people I interacted with were friendly and helpful, and Dr. Kwan and Zoe especially so - they explained everything as we went, answered questions, prepared me for each thing as we went through the steps. Kitty was scared but they handled him gently and with care and he was fine. We were overdue for shots, but no shaming. At the end of the exam and shots, the credit card reader came to me, so we didn't need to leave the examining room. Then we were guided back out the building and to the parking lot. Overall very high recommendations! A couple notes if you're new: The new-ish location is on a triangular lot which is an advantage, but it might not be obvious to pull into the parking lot from Lee Road, then when you leave exit out the other side of the lot. Once out of your car, there's great signage to know which doors to enter and exit. No, it's not bargain basement vet care, so if you're concerned about cost make sure to ask (I asked about various costs on the phone before I went and they were very helpful with estimates.) Costs seemed reasonable to me, and I like the practice - clean, professional, caring, responsive, and they take care of people and pets. Finally, there is a charge for credit card use, so if you want to avoid that fee come with check, debit, or cash.

Shaker Heights Animal Hospital were angels. We had to have 4 adults get our dog out of the car on a stretcher and they were so kind and thoughtful and considerate. They were professional and empathetic. We had to put our dog down and we felt respected and were never rushed or pushed into anything. We will be forever grateful.

My older dog has been coming here for 6 years, and we added another dog to the family 3 years ago, who has also now been coming here. My younger dog had so many problems at first and I would literally call them every two weeks lol, but they were so responsive and got her in for appointments. My younger dog is also a bit fearful of people but not aggressive, and I love how they handle her! She associates good things with this vet and she has come a long way. Like every vet the prices are expensive, but reasonable, and they do go up like every year. But oh well, it’s better than going to some shady/bad practice vet so the price reflects the quality. I feel comfortable taking my doggos here.ft. pics of my two dogs after anesthesia from two operations performed by this wonderful clinic ?

Dr. Kwan and the Shaker Heights Animal Hospital staff are absolutely wonderful. My adopted dog is blind and has extreme anxiety about going to the vet, particularly when there are any procedures or things he isn't used to (including "simple" things like nail trims). SHAH has been overly accommodating to help Romeo have the smoothest visit without increasing his anxiety. They are very patient and gentle with my dog, even when he is exhibiting his worst behavior. We also greatly appreciate that you can call and talk to a person during normal business hours and the staff are wonderful about following up with the doctor if necessary. They answer all of my questions (and I can promise you I have many), which helps me know Romeo is getting care from the best possible group. We can't recommend Shaker Heights Animal Hospital enough!

These people Don't care for pets. My dog was a little ill all I wanted them to do is look at him. They said no since I am a new costume you must wait 3 weeks really. Anything could happen to my Kibbles in 3 weeks. Fortunately within a matter of seconds another Annimal Hospital said bring him right in. No score for Shaker Heights Animal Hospital rating ( F-) They Don't care about pets no Animal should wait for care 9pm

I can’t begin to express how wonderful this facility and the staff is. All the techs are always so nice and take the time to get to know their animals and humans alike. Dr. Welsh is fantastic and my dogs are always comfortable here! They’re great with emergencies and the new location is really nice! I’ve been going here almost 2 years now and haven’t had a single problem and I won’t be leaving anytime soon. Just a great, caring vet!

I have received excellent care for all my dogs from Shaker Heights Animal Hospital over a number of years. I currently have three old dogs with special needs and chronic medical issues. The level of professionalism is very high as is the amount of compassion towards my old dogs and towards me, now also old with some disabilities. I am most appreciative of the individualized care we all receive

I never actually ended up being seen by this vet. I called to set up a new patient appointment. Their process is to receive all pet records, review them, and then they'll contact for an appointment. It was advised this would take 1-2 days. After waiting 3 days I contacted them and they said to resend the info. I resent, they confirmed receipt, and never called me back. I contacted them today and they stated they had attempted to call me, but had the wrong number on file. My number was included in my email and I never received any other form of communication from them regarding an inability to contact me. Based on the lack of coordination of the office, I'm going to look for a different vet, which is disappointing based on other reviews. If you do attempt to go with this vet, it appears you do have to advocate for yourself quite a bit. Hopeful this is a one off, but wanted to put it out there for anyone considering a new relationship with them.

Friendly, clean, efficient, and caring. My dog felt very comfortable there even though it was our first time. The costs were reasonable, and Dr. Kwon was amazing.
