This is the second day in a row that I’ve come to the Fifth Third bank here on Mayfield Road. The ATM machine is temporarily out of service. This is a huge inconvenience and so I have to find another Fifth Third ATM that’s working but you don’t know until you get there there not happy.

We opened up a personal checking account about a year ago. This past April I was a victim to identity theft. I notified my branch and removed all access to any online banking. This month we had fraudulent activity on our checking account. All disputes have to be done via phone at their call center and can not be done in the branch. I filed a dispute and put a freeze on my checking account. The lady I spoke with at the call center was literally yawning on the phone when I told her that my account had been hacked! She is was so rude and really didn’t care. I was told it will take 8 business days to get our money back. This all took place about 5:30pm on Wednesday 8/9/2023.I went into the branch Thursday morning, 8/10/2023. I wanted to see about opening a new checking account.I spoke with a personal banker, she looked into our account and another fraudulent transaction was pending, this one was for over $429.00, even though there was a freeze on our account. I was told that I needed to file another dispute! So, I did. Even though there was hold on the account the bank allowed this to happen.Friday 8/11/2023, 2 days later we went in and opened a new checking account and moved all of our money. We were under the impression that our account that had been compromised was going to be closed.Today 8/17/2023. I went into the branch and guess what? The $429.00 fraudulent transaction was put through again and was paid by the bank! The freeze did not do a thing and the account was not closed. I had to file another fraudulent dispute and as of today we are out that money. We are just sick…we were told we have to wait another 8 business days for the return of our money AND the fraudulent transaction could be submitted a third time.As soon as we can we are closing both of our accounts because it is very clear the innocent account holder is not a priority or a concern for Fifth Third bank!

I have NO idea why it takes *10* days to clear an in-state check. I deposit a $5000 check every few months from the same account and every time it takes a minimum of 10 days to clear. Don’t let there be two weekends or a holiday in there. When I get that check, I need my money.

I deposited 130 to my card account by the teller said it have 120 instead but I counted before I gave her the money. So this is going to be my last day at this ? location.

Today I was cheat out of $20. While $20 may not be a lot of money. It was still my money. In the drive through I gave a deposit of $1240. I then added $60 to make it even. I received a receipt for $1280. With no explanation volunteered. At most banks if you give too much or too little the let you know. My teller didn’t think I’d check my receipt and tried to sent me on my way. When questioned she volunteered to count her drawer and to give me my money back. But what good is giving me my money if your not going to give me all that I had. What good is telling me my drawer balanced if my wallet balanced too. Not doing South Euclid branch anymore and you shouldn’t either. I’m going to leave out the neck rolling manager that came to assist but was of know assistance she simply reiterated what the teller said. She didn’t even say I can try to pull a camera, we will continue to investigate, I’m sorry for the mixup- nothing. A true class act!
