You have to have a rewards membership to use their self checkout? Kroger/Publix/Piggly Wiggly/Mejier/ Walmart/Target don’t require that

It’s not worth it to accept shopping orders for DoorDash here because the cashiers have consistently been very slow. Here’s an idea, if you can’t adequately train your cashiers to move faster than a snail’s pace then maybe you should have more than roughly 2 lousy registers open…

Nice, clean store. Terribly overpriced. You pay more for typical items than any other store.

Don’t come here unless you want to wait in line forever. Don’t know why corporate thought it was a good idea to shut down the self checkout registers. Corporations needs to give their staff more hours or hire more people because there’s never enough staff. I feel bad for the staff that is there. There’s lines going all the way into the back of the store. Corporate is a joke.

It was very clean and well lighted. It had all the modern amenities of a grocery store. And for a big operation a nice and courteous staff.

It's cool...but they need to talk to United Healthcare about consumers actually being able to purchase fresh meats and fish

This store is a zoo a complete zoo from top to bottom. I'd like to start out with the fishmonger. Who should retired 20 years ago. The only thing he does is come in and abuse his customers. He's rude and he doesn't really care if he's rude or your reaction to it. Let's move on customer service or as I like to call it lack of customer service. I would sooner put hot knitting needles in my eyes than to ask them a single question. As far as their employees are concerned, the rest of them, they do a great job of walking the other way when they see a customer. It may not be exactly like that but it's darn close. Then finally, you wanna bribe me by giving me something for giving you five stars. no no no that's not gonna happen. The store is rotten from the top all the way down to the bottom. It's very evident there is no due diligence on the corporation's part to making this store any better. Thank God when I moved from Ashtabula, There were infinitely more choices for my grocery dollar. I don't even bother carrying my giant Eagle card anymore for the amount of times I actually go in there. And thank God there are choices here. Because, In Ashtabula, there are none.

This location is a joke. Every time I go into this giant eagle after work this is always an issue going on. Last time the lady at customer service was yelling to customers getting in line saying she was closing customer service down early at 5:30 because she had to catch her bus, meanwhile the hours on the signage at the desk state customer service is supposed to be open from 8 AM to 8PM which inconveniences shoppers who get off work after 4PM. Today 6/4/24 I go in to get 1 item at 8:00PM and the customer service desk is closed and all the self check lines are closed with only 2 cashiers working the regular lines with all the customers forming lines spilling down the aisles. I immediately put my item back after seeing this mess. But what upset me the most was seeing multiple staff members standing around talking both inside and outside with no one trying to jump in and help get the check out lines down. This customer service is unacceptable. Giant Eagle has to do better. Management needs to hire more staff to handle the volume in the afternoon and Management needs to jump in and help work the registers and not leave workers unattended on the registers without baggers to help speed up the customer experience. I will not be back to this location, I will stick to shopping at Legacy Village location who keeps there checkout lanes clear and fully staffed and their customer service desk actually stays open till 8PM. Please do better and stop treating residents in the area this way.
