My company and I are in town on business, and during our team’s visit to this Walmart location, we experienced something absolutely unacceptable.
Our lead painter, Billy, walked in and was immediately treated with suspicion. From the moment he entered, he was watched more closely than anyone else in the store. Billy is African-American, and the discriminatory nature of the scrutiny was impossible to ignore.
At one point, he picked up an item out of curiosity but immediately put it back and walked away. He later purchased a pair of swimming trunks, and only after completing his purchase was he approached and accused of stealing.
This was not just disrespectful to Billy—it was offensive to our entire company. He was accompanied by two additional team members, Nathan and Zay, who witnessed the entire situation firsthand. Both can confirm that at no point did Billy consider stealing anything. All three of these men have been background checked as part of our hiring process, and none of them have any kind of criminal record—not even traffic violations.
To treat a respected employee like a criminal based solely on assumption and appearance is deeply offensive, and frankly, unacceptable.
We are sharing this review publicly and will also be contacting store management directly. Our company operates with integrity and professionalism, and we expect the same from the businesses we interact with—especially major retailers like Walmart.
We expect corrective action to be taken. Racial profiling and unjust treatment of customers or professionals should never be tolerated. We hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately so that no one else is subjected to this kind of treatment.

This is easily the best Walmart! It is laid out more effectively than any other Walmart I’ve been to.

Wal-Mart needs to address employees publicly doing drugs in their parking lots and coming in looking high and smelling like Marijuana it's unprofessional. Customer service is poor cause they are there to fratenize and slack. Southpoint & huntington walmart should be held to the same as barboursville walmart.

I make weekly grocery pickups 3 of 4 time I get GV dish liquid the bottle bent at neck, lid loose or something wrong withit.

This store is disgusting, I'm surprised they don't get shut down. Plus they hire these old dementia laiden employees that are rude to customers. Let the dead rest please.

Was buying usual items, decided to try and be cute and draw a heart on the freezer glass for my wife, I know I'm a terrible person, and the old female employee yelled at me to wipe the glass off and rudely left to undoubtedly ruin some other customers experience. 10/10 do not recommend going to this one it's also filthy.

When visiting this area go to this Walmart probably twice a week. Can get everything you need there. Also McDonald's is inside.

The pharmacy was super quick filling my prescription. Some of the workers are not nice to customers and have a rude attitude.
