I have purchased Ohio lottery tickets at many gas stations and retailers using a debit card. Still, this location only takes cash (no signs state that the lottery is cash only). After the employee printed off the tickets, she told me the lottery tickets were cash only. She then told me that there was an ATM in the store. I didn’t want to use that ATM because I wasn’t familiar with the fees involved. These ATMs can charge a small fee, which I wouldn’t pay. I then said I would go to my bank and get the $40 I needed.
A male, whom I assumed was the manager, came to my car and demanded that I use the ATM in the store to pay for the lottery tickets (which were still in their possession). I did not leave the store with the tickets. I tried to explain to him that I’ve never had this problem with other retailers, and I would rather go to my bank and get the money, return, and pick up the tickets.
He also told me never to come back to his store. I have been there maybe a few times, but I'm not a regular customer, and I have never had any negative encounter with anybody.
The man/manager at my car gave me several legitimate reasons why they don’t take cards, including fees for using the card, and the employee will have to pay $40 out of her pocket. I told him that I would return with the $40.
The manager's tone and demeanor were over the top. Even when I returned with the $40, he said sarcastically, “Well, you did return.” In one last effort, I tried to explain that I wasn’t aware that this location only took cash for the lottery. I could see from his negative tone that I wasn’t making him understand my view. So I told him that I wasn’t coming back to this store. In his words, not mine. Good, I don’t want you to come back to my store.
While driving to the ATM at my bank, I wondered who owned the ATM at this store and how much in fees they charged customers to use it?’
There are hundreds of gas stations in our area. I won’t need to use this one.
Does anybody else have issues using a debit card for the lottery at this location and being forced to use their ATM?

Premium gas markup is huge. More than any of the nearby places. The pump locked into the on position even though I did not activate it. Then it would not inactivate. I had to pull the hose out of the car spewing gas everywhere. I won't be going back.

They do not hire minorities or non whites at all. Spring boro is a sundown town so beware of your surroundings if you are in the area and are not W H I T E. Relatively racist area. And this store is no different. Klansville.

This has station is way over priced. A 3 pack of Bud Ice tallboys is 5.49 here, they are only 3.99 across the street at Speedway. Other beers here are upcharged similarly. .50 to 1.00 or more each compared to the Speedway across the street. Rip Off.

The people who are working at this gas station are always so lovely. Every single time I go in, they are the most friendly, so much so I felt it was necessary to leave this review! Keep doing what you're doing! You all put a smile on my face and make each day a little brighter! Definitely my go to stop and #1 gas station :)
