Honestly, I was very impressed with this dealership! I had a negative experience at my local Hyundai Dealer and decided to give this place a try.
I met with Justin, who was very personable and very non-traditional car salesman. I did not feel pressured at all, he let me take a look at a couple models that I was interested in and provided real opinions on each one. No typical sales-pitch tactics.
I decided on leasing an Elantra after getting some estimates (which were quick to receive - not the usual “30 minutes back and forth” tactic). Finance guy was very helpful, not pushy on the added protection plans. The way they presented the options and prices was straightforward and easy to understand.
Such a relief to have an easy process. I highly recommend this place if you’re not into 80’s-style car salesman pitches and techniques, especially if you’re a woman going car shopping alone.
Sometimes being genuine is the best sales technique!

Just purchased a 2025 TUSON. Sandy Atkinson was extra patient explaining all the tech questions we had with all features. We bought on our 3rd visit because Sandy was there to make the process easy.

I drove from downtown to look at their used cars after checking out multiple other places and sales men. Jim Hedges (James on his card) helped me out and was the best! He had over 10 years of experience and it showed. He was very patient with me and made me confident in my purchase after our time going over many cars on the lot and in the office together. Highly recommend going there to speak to him if you need a new car! I ended up buying a different used car than I can to see there that was better for me and boy do I love my purchase! I will be back if I need anything as I trust Jim to take care of me and I trust his past experience to help me make the right choice with his knowledge of cars features, prices, differences and sales. Thanks Jim!

We worked with Rick to purchase our new Hyundai Tucson. He and his team were great to work with. The purchase was transparent, no hidden fees; even the paperwork wasn’t bad. Rick was knowledgeable, efficient, and hardworking. We will visit him to purchase another vehicle.

My daughter was driving our 2014 Santa Fe from Pittsburgh to Detroit when the engine locked up one Friday night. Fortunately we have family in Kent, Ohio who were able to come to her aid and directed her to Great Lakes Hyundai dealership. Alex and the team were fantastic. Alex did his research and discovered that there had been a recall on that engine, he contacted the Corporate Office and they agreed to cover the cost of the engine repairs. It took several weeks to get it fixed, but Alex kept me and my daughter abreast of the situation.. He also helped my daughter get connected to Enterprise car rental group.
Because of the outstanding service my daughter received from the Staff at Great Lakes Hyundai I would definitely consider purchasing another Hyundai.

I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership. After purchasing a brand new car, I started facing several issues shortly after my first service. When I reached out for help, the staff was extremely rude and dismissive. They showed no willingness to assist or resolve my problems. It’s clear they don’t care about their customers once the sale is made. I deeply regret my decision to buy from them and recommend that others avoid this dealership at all costs. Save yourself the trouble and look for a more customer-focused option! Need to learn how to talk!
