I cannot speak for Mr. Rumpf's services, as I never actually got the opportunity to be a customer. I had been calling his business for months before I decided to finally just stop in, as I understand that small businesses often do not have a lot of staff available to answer the phones. Google does not tell you this, but his business is actually inside of another business, "Betty Rumpf Interiors." Easy enough to figure out, I suppose, being that it is the same last name, but it would have been nice if there had been a sign on the door, which there was not. Mr. Rumpf what is not in on that day back in January that I stopped by, so I left my name and number with the very kind young woman working, and I have not heard from Thomas Rumpf at all. I had several watches that I would have appreciated having cleaned and tuned, as they were all gifts for my husband, with one in particular being for our anniversary that was approaching at the time. Luckily, I am now divorced, so I will not need Mr. Rumpf's supposed services anytime soon.

I had a watch in need of repair. I took it to the place where most people take time pieces in need of repair. They said I needed a main gasket and crown gasket replaced. $60, and they would have it in a few weeks. I came to Yelp and found Tom Rumpf. He looked it over and said the main gasket is fine, but the crown needs to be replaced. He did the job for 1/4 the cost the other place quoted, and I had my watch back in 2 business days. Tom is now my go-to guy for watch repairs.

Tom is a true watch enthusiast. His shop is definitively old school. After purchasing a vintage Omega wristwatch (mechanical/self winding watch), I was not sure whom I could trust with it. I was wary to just leave such an item with a cash for gold shop which does watch repairs on the side. When I walked into Tom's business, I felt almost immediately that he is a trustworthy guy and that he would to an excellent job. Tom restores vintage watches regularly, and sells them as well. He even had a few watches which were similar to the one which I had brought in, so I was reassured that he knew what he was doing. My preliminary expectation was that a repair to a vintage Omega which was keeping very bad time would set me back somewhere around $100. Tom did it for $50. I could not recommend him enough and I feel that I will be a long-term customer.
