I just received my custom build from Ava Direct and am very pleased with the results. I did not need or want a gaming rig. I wanted a quiet, discreet but powerful rig for data analysis, GIS mapping and LLM build outs.
When looking for companies that could do my custom build, I requested quotes from 5 different companies. Ava Direct was the first to get back to me, answered all my questions, and kept me informed of the process.
Ava had the best, most varied customization options. I requested Ubuntu installed and they were happy to do so for me. The cost of the machine came in under my budget, which I was very happy with.
Some parts were difficult to source, which isn't a problem with Ava- it is just the state of things right now- but my sales rep kept me informed and offered solutions. My machine arrived incredibly well packaged, and Ava kept me in the loop along with tracking from the shipping company. The quality of the build is excellent, the machine is quiet (as I designed for), and I expect it to serve my needs for many years to come.
Will absolutely use Ava for all my equipment needs in the future. Personal service is underrated these days, and I often don't have time to sit and do a lot of research or fiddle with options. More than anything, I appreciate having a reliable, trusted line to their sales department.

Love how easy and simple was the customer service experience, they answered all my questions, explained the process, walk me through process on how to do the changes, they even let me submit my own label to get a better price on my own with the shipping label, and finally I loved that they show the complete description of each costume modification in the computer with the maximum velocity and why is that happening. Everything was very professional, loved it, initially I got lagging with the computer and they help me to solve the problem. Now I can see the difference between my old one and this one and is amazing, worth the 5567 dollars I spend. I appreciate that you guys also could deliver the computer in 2-3 weeks the computer when you guys told me, with the other company I was having to wait more than month and they give me so much problem with the customer service experience. Once I can get my Desktop definitely I will go with you guys. Thanks again!
As a final recommendation, I will appreciate if in the future you guys can update the website to a more interactive format and include the option that you will provide your own label, if it was not because I start asking a bunch of questions when I call I did not know that you guys offer that option. Also, I will also appreciate if you guys can only provide the product that can be configured with computer, because I saw with the computer I got, based on the vendor description that the maximum SSD will accept was a Gen 4 of 4T for the 3 extra slots and the first slot it can only be Gen 5 4T, but you guys where offering Gen 5 for the other 3 other slots. If I was not aware of the vendor description I would have spend more money unnecessary because you guys leave the Gen 5 option. But in overall, because I did my due diligence and learn the maximum capacity of the computer I did not get angry or frustrated. But other people probably will trust your word and that can bring potential problems. Finally, despite of this suggestion since everything else was so good I had decided to put 5 Stars.

I had a great experience ordering from this company about a week ago. They called me to confirm my order, and I appreciate this confirmation. Order was dispatched from facility quickly, and I have been testing with no issues. Thank you! Will order from this company in the future.

Had a very straightforward experience with getting a computer with top of the line parts that were not out yet like the 5090 video card. As time went on I even made changes that were done and some not after expressing the usual restocking fees as some requested changes were late. So easily clarified and worked out to some upgrades mid build while we waited for some more exclusive parts. Shipping was done well by them but ran into issues by the shipper themselves. Resolved just fine thankfully as well.
So really anything that could go wrong did not. Delays could have been handled poorly or shipping recovery could have gone worse. Did not.
So 5 stars as things were handled well as could be, even when conditions were not ideal! This order required much more effort!

I ordered from AVADirect because I had used them before and had a good experience, but not so much this time. It's nice that you can pick your own components for the build, but you will pay a bit more for the privilege and it will take time because they order the parts from a distributor.
Configuring the build isn't terribly hard, but the website is a bit wonky. They try to make an effort to keep you from using incompatible parts in the build but sometimes that backfires. For example, I wanted to air cool a Fractal North Mesh case. The site would not allow me to choose an air cooler, probably due to an optional included fan bracket (which no one ever uses). I went ahead and selected a 240mm AIO and the rest of my parts. Nothing complicated or new/cutting edge, just a basic system.
First, a few days after I ordered they sent me an email asking if I would pay $135 more because they mistakenly applied a discount twice. Fine, stuff happens, I went ahead and paid. Second, it took over 2 weeks for them to let me know that they couldn't get the video card I ordered, and few replacement options were offered, so just to move things along I omitted the video card from the build and got a refund for that component. A month into the order and they finally received the case so the build could actually start. They must be captive to a single distributor or something, because at the time I placed the order I put the build together on pcpartspicker and could have had all the parts in a matter of days from various online sources. On top of everything, when the PC finally arrived it was configured with single-channel RAM (a single 32GB stick). I would NEVER choose to have memory configured this way. Maybe they were in a hurry since the build was taking so long. I tried calling support to address the issue, and was told that it was a sales issue and someone would get back to me that day. Didn't happen, and since time is running out before the spring semester starts I went ahead and ordered an appropriate 2 piece RAM kit from Amazon. At least the assembly of the build itself seems to be done well.
TL.DR - You'll be given a big selection of components to choose from, but it's a crapshoot as to whether you will actually get them, or when. Their configurator is a bit too conservative when it comes to compatibility, point for trying I guess. Be sure to pop the case and check things out and make sure you have what you ordered. After having to purchase my own memory I ended up paying over $1500 for an AMD R5-7600x system without a video card. The choose-your-own-components thing is a really nice idea, but the execution leaves much to be desired.

Ordered / received an incredibly powerful mini build to power advanced interactive experiences at tradeshows etc. We searched every major custom builder and AVA offered a level of customization we could not find anywhere. Our experience ordering, their communication, and build quality is incredible. We will be ordering many more machines from AVA in the future. Well done.

I bought a system from AVADirect in 2011. It was misconfigured at AVADirect and resulted in frequent BSODs. They never fixed the problems, and their only solution was for me to pay to ship the whole system back to Ohio. I couldn't afford to be without an even sometimes working PC for weeks at a time. I eventually repaired the system myself by completely disassembling and reassembling the system and replacing and reconfiguring the garbage RAM. I went with a Custom PC provider so I WOULDN'T have to build my own PC. Thirteen years and several PC builds later, and I still haven't forgotten what a terrible company this is. BE WARNED! Maybe they've identified and fixed some of their own problems over the past thriteen years, but I don't think they deserve a second chance as I'm looking for a new build this fall. Customer service is very important - Customers never forget.

AVA Direct has built two custom computers for me and the build and service have been excellent. Recently, they reached out to me advising me of a potential problem with a manufacturing defect in the Intel 13th gen CPU. I contacted Joe in sales and asked if they could perform the recommended fix for me which he said they would…at no charge! The technicians upgraded the CPU and updated the BIOS. You can’t beat service like that! I highly recommend this company if you want a custom computer built for your needs and if you’re not knowledgeable about computers they will give great advice and recommendations.

After a lot of research and looking, these guys had the most variety and was the most cost effective. My pc is beautiful and came very quickly! Only issue I had was software related, ( Razer software sucks but i got the game pac as a gift, AMD and Nvidia conflicting but easy fix, ). I plan on buying any gaming pc from them. You can tell they put a lot of love into it and even give you the spare parts, which I've found to be rare! They called me to make sure I had no questions and requested feedback which I genuinely appreciate.

Tried to buy an enterprise SSD online (~$800). They immediately charged my card. Next two days we went back and forth as to why they needed to charge $220 more for the drive. Every reason they gave I was able to immediately discredit. Very scummy and disingenuous business.
Edit:
They finally agreed to sell me the drive for the original price. I was actually so frustrated with the experience I read their terms of sale to see if they're allowed to cancel and odde that has already been paid for as not all companies do (e.g. Amazon doesn't which is why they charge you at the time of shipment).
The price wasn't egregiously below MSRP to be a mistake, so I am disappointed with the experience, but I am happy I got what I wanted at the price what I wanted.
