Just a wonderful park; walking, entertainment, playground, picnics, pets allowed, solitude, etc...

We visited at the park for a fall festival. They were lots of vendors with arts and crafts and local produce and other products. Very nice park with a nice gazebo for the band to play walking paths. Open field areas. Great neighborhood park. The only thing to be aware of is during events. They will block off the areas close to the park and you'll have to park on neighborhood streets and walk to the park.Playground: Nice playground for the kids.

It's a nice neighborhood park.A volunteer group has been keeping it tidy (weeding), so I understand.Apparently the park's well used year around.Supposed plans to upgrade the restrooms to be utilized during the winter.(Except for a few events I've attended, it always seems underutilized.)

As a JCU graduate and now University Heights resident with a family, this park is exactly what the community needed. It has become a great gathering space to meet neighbors, grab a coffee, exercise your dog, or attend a festival. Glad that the city recognizes how important this space is for the city and is taking steps to build on this momentum.

We love this park for the ample nature scape, plenty of playground equipment and nice gazebos.

University Heights needs more indoor spaces seeing that we already live in a walking neighborhood and that we live through way more cold months than warm ones

Yes, this is a "community park" in name and its modest footprint, but everything about it was in excellent condition, even after a brutal winter. Walkways were clear and well-maintained, the grounds were virtually free of trash and debris, and plenty of families were taking advantage of an early spring day to get outside and hang out. The park is sandwiched inside a large residential block and has a pathway around the perimeter which is perfect for laps. There are two play areas, each with new equipment that provides kids with a variety of challenges. There are also parking lots on both ends, plus restrooms in the middle. Most of the space consists of open lawns which could be used for picnicking or low-impact pick-up games, although there are more rugged sections here and there which appear to double as collecting grounds for runoff whenever it rains. It all simply looks great after some recent refurbishment, apparently, help from the community with ongoing maintenance. A beautiful public space here in University Heights.

Nice park with a couple "natural" enclosures for kids. There's a younger and older playground, but even on the younger one there wasn't a ton for my 3.5 year old to do. Park could use more trees for shade.

I love this park, I used to go to the school that used to be here, and grew up right on Northwood road. Walter Stinson was a good person, But I kind of wish they would have named it Northwood Park. But is absolutely beautiful park.

I stopped at another park 1st. They had not shoveled or put any salt down. So I decided to visit the Walter Stinson Park. The walk/runway was totally clear and provided a refreshing walk. ?❤️

This park is a very beautiful “natural” park. The layout is casual but intentional; it is very clean and rather quiet for a park. I’ve seen all sorts of activities going on in the open spaces, and like other reviewers, I too would like to know how long the walking path is.
