I actually came in to close my account, and this was a perfect reminder as to why I took my business elsewhere. I'm closing my account as my free checking is now charging me $5/month with NO NOTICE of that occurring. Anyhow, as the first person to walk in and need help, the first guy told me he couldn't help me because he didn't have access to that function. Apparently there is only one person in this building of helping anyone - and is currently occupied with someone who walked in after me (and is currently helping someone up front - because he's the only one who can do anything). The first guy asked me why I was closing my account and I stated the facts: "you don't offer 1.01% on checking, 1.05% on savings, nor do you offer me $0.10 every time I use my debit card" to which he replied "oh, you went to online banking - we'll see how long that lasts since you can't deal with people in person." For the record, I've been with Discover for almost 3 years and customer service has always been prompt and virtuous. I've written this review while STILL waiting for someone to help me close my account...

I live right down the street walking distance so I love the convenience of this bank. I get to walk a short distance to come and do anything (deposit, withdrawal, transfer) anytime as opppsed to driving a distance like I had to when I was in my old place. I really liked Huntington bc of their credit card; it was easy enough to establish one (as opposed to fifth third which I was at previously) and i esp liked the no foreign transaction fee bc I'm from out of the country and sometimes go back home to visit family. The reason Huntington gets 3 starts is for 2 reasons. The first being that the staff doesn't seem very competent. When I started going to Huntington the people working there were professional, knowledgeable and great. However I think as time went on they got a staff change and it seems like the new people don't know what they're talking about and bc of this, it takes extra long to get simple stuff done. The only good person from before is a woman named Monica (or is it Monique?) who was there from the start. She always recognizes me, she's sharp and quick and efficient and she is super friendly too. The second reason why Huntington gets 3 starts is bc of the wait times. I can only count once or twice where I didn't have to wait. There's always a long wait bc there's few tellers or bc they take long (see reason 1 above). As a result, there's often multiple people waiting in line at once and I've often see people leave frustrated to come back at a later time. Overall not too bad of a place although I think there's room for improvements.

This bank is completely incompetent. The tellers are nice but they have the knowledge of used car salesmen. I would highly recommend against baking with them and Huntington as a whole.

I have several accounts with Huntington, they were the most convenient bank at the time. The tellers are all polite, well trained and happy to see you, a pleasure to deal with but they have high turnover due to low pay and poor treatment. Seeing one of the bankers requires much patience due to long lines and extended wait times. I would not recommend this bank for a mortgage, my experience was awful due to poor customer service and shady business practices. I have excellent credit, more than adequate references, a substantial down payment & more than adequate employment to meet the criteria. I requested a mortgage rate & terms that I felt was appropriate under these circumstances so I approached them for a qualification letter that never arrived. They lost documentation numerous times and demanded I resend it, did not return calls, was transferred to numerous people for varying problems countless times without resolution, in short they do not want to do business on your terms. I was eventually sent a loan for a considerable amount that I did not request or have a need for since I had not yet found a property. I contacted the loan dept. & asked where my qualification letter was & told if I wanted to do business with them that was the amount I had to borrow to receive it. I don't think so, I don't do business this way. I stated if you don't remit that letter I will fire you & they responded it doesn't work that way sir we decide what you have to borrow. As you can imagine I didn't sign for the loan & had to fire them, you can't fix stupid so I didn't bother trying, what I did was find a smaller financial institution that wanted my business, provided that letter immediately, gave me a better rate, terms and customer service & I borrowed a fraction of the amount. The customer should always be in control of things, don't ever take what they want to give you & don't be afraid to say no thank you & look elsewhere.

I give this bank no stars at all because I've had the worst banking experience with this branch. When I was a student at OSU, I opened an account here and got a safety deposit box with it. The first day when I was opening the account I had a 100 dollar promotion coupon for a new checking account, the banker told me I needed to have 10K in order to get that when it wasn't mention anywhere on the slip!! Then, couple of months later I was charged 70 dollars for an overdraft, means in 24 hours I used my debit card twice when my account balance wasn't enough, so I was charged twice the fine without any email, or text notifications, unlike what they advertise on TV, The forgiving bank bs. Finally, I got a job at OSU and wasn't supposed to get charged for my safety deposit this year, but I did. The first time I went in to complain, the teller told me I could just call the 1-800 number as if she didn't want to deal with it. Called the number, they said it's a branch matter and they should solve it. Went in, and saw the banker who sits in the main lobby (Daniel) and he said I'd get refunded within 72 hours. Wasn't refunded. Went in to deposit a check a week later, asked him again, he didn't even remember me! and he said he'd put it on his calender, and if I didn't see it by the next day, I should call and remind him! Isn't he supposed to do his job? why the hell should I remind him? Later, I couldn't even see my check deposit. Called, they blamed the system update again. The next day my check wasn't showing, called again, the teller was at lunch and I was told she'd call me when she came back. Never received a call! Called the 1-800 number and they said my check was misplaced. Long story short, I got refunded for the check but not the safety deposit box! I filed a complaint against the branch today for their dishonesty. Things happen, if they lose a check they should say it. If they can't refund they should say it! Customers don't have time for bs.

During one of my first visits to this location, one of the tellers bragged that this is the wealthiest bank in all of Columbus. I brushed off this comment as inconsequential, but should have taken this comment as a warning. My husband and I set up a joint checking account at this location under a promotion, wherein you would receive $100 if you made a specified number of transactions with a certain time frame. 4 months has passed since we opened our account and we still haven't received the promotional money (which was supposed to be deposited within 90 days). Earlier this week we called the banker (cough cough Mr. Brockway) who set up our account for us. Conveniently, he acted like he didn't know what we were talking about (although the promotion was state-wide and widely publicized on the internet) and stated he would look into the problem and call us a few hours later. Days have passed and we haven't heard anything. This HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE belies Huntington's own customer-centered motto - "we'll work hard to give you the very best in customer service." I bet if we had a heftier account Mr. Brockway would have actually done his job and given us decent customer service. Bottom line? Don't expect to go to this location and expect to be taken care of unless you are in the Upper Arlington/Grandview elite.

I walked in thinking I could get in and out real quick, I sat down waiting for a personal banker to service me. It took almost 30 minutes or more to get serviced or even recognized that i was sitting there waiting for help. It would be one thing if the place was busy, but i was like the only person in the bank and two personal bankers were available. One was talking about lacrosse or something on the phone which seemed like a personal call. The other did seem more business related. Make sure you bring entertainment if you need to go to this branch office.

Great tellers! I know it's a Huntington required thing, but I love the OSU spirit during the season, and the holiday spirit which follows. The tellers are people I can relate too. They joke, smile and really interact with each customer. They are quick to process requests too. They understand that the bank is merely a check off the to-do list. I did not open my account here, but I prefer this location to any other. They are a great team and complement each other well.
