I'm a bachelor and there hadn't been anyone riding with me in the passenger seat for a while. As one might already guess, this is a recipe for a filthy pit of chaos. Tubs of mail, court filings, tissues, fast food napkins, extra straws, sunglasses, a couple empty water bottles, a box of kn-95 masks leftover from the pandemic, a couple tools, old medicine bottles filled with screws, and an ice scraper filled the seat next to me. It was summer now, so I hadn't needed to scrape ice for months and if you had asked, I would have fancifully claimed it was for personal protection. Attempt to carjack me and face the wraith of my odd blue-bristled snow brush in your face (or hair maybe). Beneath the tubs and all that stuff was an even bigger nightmare of bits of crumbs, the odd peanut (I didn't even eat peanuts, so I don't know), torn straw papers, pale orange Tic-tacs fallen astray and crusty white calcified pennies that the machine at Kroger wouldn't accept. I kept the pennies. If my nurse practitioner hadn't told me to stop eating fries, they might have been there too. I needed a big vacuum in the worst way and Super Wash would have it. It was early and the first I pulled up to was out of order. I tried the other side, it didn't have a sign. I loaded up five quarters I kept in a jar for emergencies and my disgusting mess was soon being sucked away; a contribution to the vacuum's collection of vehicle interior waste. The time I paid for had been sufficient. An old receipt from Burger King I didn't know was under the seat temporarily clogged up the nozzle. It was early in the morning and I still had time to wipe down the dash. I sneeze a lot, it's gross.
Super Wash was being diligently cleaned and maintained by an older man with a below-the-knee prosthetic right leg. My Father had had the same thing after a staph infection, so I know it can be difficult and painful to live with. In any case, it didn't seem to slow the work he was doing down much.
Later in the week, I was sitting in the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot on a hot afternoon. The kids at KFC couldn't get things together and everyone who had ordered were waiting. I looked across the parking lot and saw him there again, carrying around bags of trash. Some car washes I've been to are obviously not taken care of on any routine basis. They are there simply to give their owner thousands of quarters. Super Wash in Urbana is better than that because of the work being done. Not everything is perfect, but the continued maintenance shows. Unfortunately, I now have the odd, momentary self-doubt in my clean car of wondering if I am not accidentally climbing into the wrong car altogether.

This car wash is either not stocked with what you pay for. Or things are out of service and you don't find out until after you pay. This one and the other super wash in urbana are absolutely awful. Between both I have probably wasted over 50 dollars between both places. The last time I went I paid for a wash and it just didn't work. Tried to email about it and mu frustrations on how much money I have lost going to these car washes and I never got a reply. Over the course of time I have gone to both urbana locations because it was convenient. No more. I'd recommend absolutely nobody got either Urbana locations.

Self wash and the auto wash don’t work correctly most of the time. Have had money taken multiple times and just had to leave. The water leaves water spots real bad even self drying with towels in the parking lot there are still water spots.
Super Wash on N Main looks a little rough but that car wash takes cards for the self wash and leaves no water spots!

Unless you’re going to use the self serve and scrub it yourself, don’t waste the money on the automatic ones. Literally drive out just as dirty. I got out to dry the car and realized both sides had dirt still covering the vehicle. Total waste of money.

Well they take that 10$ like most carwash places when I use ur card. Which would be okay if they gaace the other 7.50 back. For whatever reason...after paying the timer started but no water no soap no nothing. I'd expect that in Springfield but Urbana kinda caught me off guard as usual. But personally I wouldn't spend a dime on anything anywhere in that town if my kids didn't live there. But ya they straight robbed me on my card.

Horrible place to go. I paid $13 for a car wash. Drove into the automatic car wash and it sprayed my car and then just stopped. No soap or anything. I sat there for a few minutes waiting and nothing else ever happened. Called the place and haven’t heard back. Do not go here and waste your money!!!
