“Better Bargains is a great place and even better employees ! Very friendly and helpful! The store looks great and a lot of affordable finds ! They really care about the customers and recognize me every time I’m there ! Thank you for a great store !”
“I love this little store. What are you looking for? It’s probably here. The employees are friendly and helpful. I buy cheap little toys here for kids in my neighborhood. And balloons to decorate my wife’s car on her birthday. $2 for a helium filled balloon that is still floating 2.5 months later!”
“Just 4 years ago everything you found would cost a dollar, that would be the price. Now it's more of a five below situation. There's a whole aisle filled with $5 items. And scattered across the store are things that cost more than $1. Matter of fact, not a single item costs one dollar even without task. Every item is $1.25, which I get, inflation and stuff, but still. It's like telling a homeless man you'll give him $4, and he tells you to raise it to $5. I use to go there with $10, intending to buy 10 tax free items (I go there for the snacks) and just that I would do. I'd go home gleeful I got 10 yummy snacks for $10, a fair trade. Now I go with $10 and I leave with snacks. Still cheaper than any other store. Me and my friend always get snacks from there when we hang out. That's the whole review, now I'm going to tell you the order all the changes happened from what I remember. And what I hope they add. You don't need to keep reading, this part truly is useless.
At the beginning of Covid-19, we noticed the ground getting filled with the six feet apart stickers. But along with those stickers, the price things were being changed for $1.25. Not to long later, maybe a year and a half, they added a gift card stand. The range for cards you could buy was a low as $5 up to $100. Which was sweet because I like gift cards. And it didn't take items off the shelf or make them cost more, it was just a small stand added at the end of an aisle. They also added a battery stand but I don't know when. Anyhow, what I recall was a redecoration of the story. The aisles were being changed. They use to have a walkway going through all the aisles, but they changed the aisles to just be one long thing. Not to long after this a five dollar aisle was added. You could buy a lot of stuff here, even clothes if I recall correctly. Now, for a while nothing else really changed. Until recently when if you look around, you can find sections in aisles that have items at a higher price. Now in the candy aisle you can find big bags of candy. Most are about $2.50. Which honestly, it's way better than the prices at CVS. Nothing has changed from this. What I want is freezers in the back, I mean. If the dollar tree is going to become all fancy and expensive than they better add freezers in the back. They may, but I probably won't edit this post at all if they do.”
“Had a great shopping experience. The store was fully stocked and clean. Plenty of workers stocking the shelves and stepping up when the line was long. They do not have helium at this time. Checkout was extremely fast and Carol was fun to shoot the breeze with.Product review: these pizza crusts are awesome! The markers work well for garage sale signs!”
“The staff is always very friendly and helpful at this location. The store is normally clean and not over crowded with just "stuff" everywhere. Is in a very convenient location and is easy to get in and out of.”
“I didn't catch their names but the 2 girls that were working tonight 8-12-25 around 5-6pm we're extremely courteous and helpful!! Great customer service!!”
“I am sick and one of the employees, i think his name is josh? was so helpful and gave me a lot of tips and a literal recipe for soup which is so good!!! i love it and his energy so much!”
“I like to shop here.
I was really excited when they opened up close to my home.
the place is clean and the staff is always polite.
I hope it stays clean and the staff stays polite.
I have been to other Dollar General stores and they are dirty and the staff is not very friendly.”

“I wonder why this Dollar tree is so much nicer than when I visit the ones near West 25th Street and East Cleveland it's so clean and organizers not stuff all over the floor”
“Thanks to Hannah & Marcus for delivering great customer service and keeping it professional. Some of the customers at this dollar tree are crazy. I don’t know how the employees keep themselves so level-headed. Great team on staff.”
“Great place for school supplies and Bounty paper towels. I needed three big packages of Bounty and my cashier went to get the third one from the top shelf. Thanks for your great prices and assistance!”
“I have to say my mood was not the greatest when I first walked into the store. I was trying to quickly shop since I was already behind schedule. This location was very easy to navigate through. Aisles clear things pushed forward. After finishing my shopping I waited in line. The guy behind the register changed my entire mood. The way he spoke with the gentleman in front of me, was like they were old friends. The gentleman mentioned his wife and her sister go in there all the time, Tony responded with their nickname and asked how she was doing after surgery. My mouth dropped how amazing of this man to connect with his customers in such a way that it changed my mood before even speaking to him. Of course my interaction with him was phenomenal. People like him are amazing and I am so happy I made a wrong turn and ended up at this dollar general. Thank you Tony. You changed my mood.”
“Our go to! We always find what we need and prices/brands are comparable. When we couldn't find supplies during the shortages, we found everything we needed here.”
“Rocking as always. This company has found the balance between being a big box store and being a local business. It is due mainly to their employees! As a company they do not appear to be out for the throats of the local business although sadly I know of occasions that has happened. They have cheap products and they are cheap products and they don't hide it like another major retailer that unsuccessfully attempted to take their market, it is what it is. I could go on but ultimately it is their employees that make them what they are.”
“The remodel is Fantastic, fresh fruits and vegetables are now offered, the refrigerated section is 3X bigger than it used to be and the selection is Great. The isles are wider and the clutter is minimal.Overall a much needed improvement.”
“Every time I come to this location all the staff is so kind and helpful. Shoutout to Renee at DG Strongsville, thank you so much for your help! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful!”
“The cashier josh was so incredible so nice and polite. Very helpful. They need more people like him there. The lady he was working with not so nice Emily her name was if you dont like ur job go home.”
“Bought dish pan and dish drying rack. Pan is great. Rack is not what I expected. It's small and glasses hang on the inside of it, not the outside. That takes up space that should be for the dishes.”
“Like all DG stores, this one used to be a bit sloppy. I've noticed it has been so much nicer and brighter, and they've been doing a great job in getting stock put away. Nice, eye-catching displays here and there and expanded decor and craft areas too. DG stores have been in the news along with Family Dollar stores for charging more for items than the shelf price, so keep an eye on that.”
“Glad that they put a dollar general in Valley City, Ohio and finally open not even 5 minutes from me and it’s very clean, big and friendly staff. The bad thing about them tonight was I get there at 8pm and they were closed already and when you look them and it’s posted on their door that they are open until 10pm”
