They used to be great. Now they are all about you doing everything yourself, and forcing their app on you. So few manned registers that you're headed into checking yourself out or wait 20 minutes. Upgrade to our more expensive Plus membership to "save money" ? Asked every stinking time. Business members used to get in early, which is now just for Plus members post-COVID. The cafe is now scan-n-go only without even a kiosk option, so using their app is no longer optional if you want anything from the cafe. A string of VERY poor management decisions makes me rethink going back to Costco.
REPLY to Daniel Hosack: You've completely missed the point. I don't want your app. I don't want to be harassed every time I buy something, or to have to wait in lines because there are fewer cashiers now. Sam's is pushing customers to do things Sam's Club employees should be doing and labeling it "as a convenience." I want to pay cash for things, which seems foreign to current management. I don't want Sam's Club tied to my financial accounts, as I simply don't trust Sam's/Walmart with my information. Yet that's what the Scan-N-Go app pretty much requires, and now it's not optional if you want a $2.67 pizza combo. It has all gotten to the point of being ridiculous, and I'm not going to keep paying for a membership that I can use less and less of.

Scan and Go should be an OPTION. I pay a membership to go to Sam’s. I can’t use the food court without scan and go? They don’t even have a register there. You MUST use the app? No wonder every table used to be full at lunchtime and yesterday there was no one.
Do you even care that most of your demographic doesn’t know how to use tech? I do and I still don’t WANT another app. Another password.
I won’t renew my membership when it expires. I’m your customer and you’re telling me how to shop? No thanks.

So they are requiring people to use scan and go to use their cafe. Unless they were purposefully trying to phase out their cafe they have made a huge mistake. The pizza was old and dry from no one ordering. Tell me they don't know their demographic without telling me.
Honestly the cafe is part of the reason I go here so that's a deal breaker for me if the food is going to be old.

Incompetent people working at the Cafe today. Waited about 10 minutes just in the line, just to be told the card reader was broken. 0/10 experience.

It is a great store. Great place to shop just try not to go on the weekends it's very busy!

I observed the worker scan only 1 item for a Caucasian customer as we were leaving out of the store— he then scanned 3 of my items, and none of the customers items behind me who was also Caucasian . Very telling!!

I love this store, but I would avoid their soda fountains at all costs. I got a Pepsi zero in the machine closest to the food counter and it didn’t taste right and made me sick to my stomach.

Horrible customer service. Was removed by some computer mess up. They refused to fix my problem and took my card away sending me away
