I rented a rug doctor from there. I spent 2 hours cleaning out the machine of old carpet pieces so it would work. I asked for a 24-hour rental, for which I was charged 34.99, then added on the tool for furniture, bringing my total to about 55.00. This was on a Sunday night at 6 pm. I got sick on Monday afternoon and was diagnosed with Flu -A. it hit me like a ton of bricks. I called to let them know I would be late bringing it in and told them the reason why. I wanted to bring it in Monday night but was quarantined for the next 5 days. I had my stepson take it for me on Tuesday night, and they still charged me 45.00 in late fees. Keep in mind I called each day, sometimes twice a day, and was told I would not have any late fees. I even had my stepson take in my papers from the Doctor, so they knew I was not lying. It meant nothing to them, so the total bill was $ 100.00. I could have bought my own machine for that. I will never use their services again or go to this Dollar General Store again. They have no compassion and lie to you when they say it will be okay and you won't be charged a late fee. I like the GM Janet, but her employees, Emily and Jena, need to improve. These employees do not represent Janet or the store well.

Fantastic. The Dollar Store at the West Portsmouth location was on my Direct route to and from my doctors appointment.Decided to stop there for my supplies. The young lady working there was friendly and helpful. Also, met a fellow Veteran while I was doing my shopping. All-In-All. A wonderful shopping visit.
