We just had a WONDERFUL first experience with our geriatric dog at Midwest with Dr. Mandel. Our boy is having hind end issues we haven’t been able to get a clear diagnosis and next steps. Dr. Mandel did a full body physical and took X-rays without putting my dog under anesthesia which another Vet required to get multiple X-rays. Dr. Mandel was able to narrow down the issues, provide immediate recommendations, AND options for the future if this progresses. He is super knowledgeable and compassionate!! The staff was great too and Andrea (I believe) was amazing handling our boy. He was comfortable the whole visit. I’m so glad we made the leap and highly recommend Midwest. A weight has been lifted! Thank you!!

Zero stars. I wouldn't bring a hamster here. Said my cat needed a mass removed. Gave me the price. Saved up and scheduled the surgery in a couple of months. She said he had to be checked again. Which is more money. Said prices changed for surgery that the mass "seemed" larger . It wasn't. Said it would be another $250. My cat wasn't doing well, so I agreed. Brought him in a couple of days later for surgery. Dropped him off. The Dr. (Kristin) called an hour later, saying she didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery without doing more tests (more money) . My cat was going to die without this surgery. She said she didn't want to be responsible for his death. He was going to die either in surgery or slowly without it. This was his last chance. There wasn't enough time to bring him anywhere else.
I brought him home heartbroken. The next day, they called asking how his surgery went? Thank you for digging it in.
A couple of weeks later, he passed away. Thank you for not even giving him a chance.
Update reply to company response: My months may be off, but I remember it did take me time to save the money for treatment. Sorry, that is something you dont seem to understand. Not everyone has money like that in their back pocket. Never declined any treatment except for the last visit when she said she wanted to do a test before surgery, but if not, she still would do surgery, hence why you had me sign the paper for it. One of the attendants said Dr. West said that as long as i understood that he might not make it out of surgery. I did. If I could afford to do a bunch of tests, i would have. The cost of surgery alone was a lot, but it was my hope it would save him. She agreed to do surgery, then the day of,called and said what I already explained above. Then, like i said, the office called to ask how he was after surgery, then a week later got a postcard, saying it was time for a checkup. To accuse me of negligence to a family member to us , my sons best friend, my best friend, and the love we had is not only insensitive, it is incredibly inappropriate and unnecessary. My time was spent giving the best care and as much love as possible to him in his final days.

False statement as well as high quality care should be there no matter what treatment or non treatment a client does. If you actually read carefully. I never said I blame Dr west for his death. I simply am pointing out the lack of compassion and empathy. Which you just confirmed in your response.
I'm not sure who responded, but your reply simply shows your lack of maturity. As an owner, I would have reached out to me personally. I could have reached out too, but considering how I felt that there was no compassion when I brought him in previously and when I had to come pick him back up in tears. I didn't get the impression at all that Dr. West is this great caring person like you describe. They brought my cat out to the car and that was that. Even when she hung up the phone, no im sorry, no nothing. So I stand by my review. Your response speaks for itself. Congrats on putting someone down who lost a dear family member. Shows real class. ?

Dr. Gundlley and the team of techs are amazing. They are always so warm, kind, and thorough. Dr. Gundlley takes time at each appointment to address any questions without ever making us feel rushed. I love the way they interact with my pets - very gentle and lovingly. You can tell they really care about what they do!

The service has been slowly going downhill and it’s gotten to the point where I just do not feel comfortable taking my pets here. Recently I took my pet here and no responsibility is taken by the practice. I would not recommend them.

They were very friendly to both of my cats for their checkup! They even made time for my cat to come back later the same day, even though it was a busy Saturday, when he broke his claw and needed to be checked out again.

We love the whole staff here. We have a cat, 2 kittens and 2 ferrets, all of them receive care here and we have been nothing but happy and comfortable with everything and everyone!
