I have been a long time customer of giant eagle and though there have a few problems, It's never been as bad as it is now. I purchase from giant eagle through pick up usually and always leave notes to please check for freshness and signs of decay on my fruits and vegetables. Almost always there's a problem with one item or another and I just end up throwing it away and not mentioning it but this time last time was the final straw. I usually have to toss a quarter to a half of strawberries, and usually a quarter to a half of grapes. but this time the grapes were almost all rotten and I will include pictures I have contacted giant eagle about this problem, and though I've been with them since they opened, this is my first time to contact the . I was very disappointed that I have had no acknowledgment of what I wrote to them and I wrote to them two different times in two different forums. I believe that they use the pick up grocery option in order to get rid of fruit that maybe on the verge of going bad, items that are almost expired, or already expired and bent and dented cans. Even though they are very convenient and my neighborhood, I will go out of my way to avoid the store at all costs.

Another GAF location! I walked up to a cashier who had nobody in line. She was laying with both elbows on the configure playing on her cell phone. I walked up, completing my transaction. She did not bag my groceries, turned around and started talking to both another employee at the register behind her and a supervisor, just chitchatting about stuff I stood there with my receipt and my groceries, and she did nothing. I actually had to beg my own groceries and walk away. The supervisor said nothing but engage her in small talk. What the hell!?

If you are in need of some good hot foods for a decent price check out Giant Eagle. They have some of the best grocery store fried chicken in the Cleveland area. I ordered a meal for my family with mixed chicken, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised that all the sides were well seasoned and tasty. I'm usually pretty picky about my macaroni but theirs was nice cheesy and the noodles where perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were whipped which I liked and not lumpy. Overall we had a great dinner and my family was full and satisfied.

I would like to buy food too, the stores Corona hours do not work for me. I understand there is a pandemic, but I also understand that I need food as well. It is extremely unhealthy to eat fast food every day and for a year and a half now. And with my schedule where I work all day, I have absolutely no time to go shopping during the day and can only shop at night. And with how short we have been at work with fewer employees I have to cover and work on my off days and do more hours on my already scheduled days. The only time that I have to actually do some grocery shopping is after midnight when I get out of work. Please open back up to your normal times, Ohio has had 0 deaths from the Coronavirus for the last 3 months. Grocery stores closing early has created an even more unhealthy environment for people. We depend on food from your grocery store to lead heathy lifestyles. This has been a terrible addition to the already terrible pandemic, the not so easy access to food that is healthy for you. Obesity is the real killer in America and this action, of closing down the grocery stores earlier, only created more obese people that are already at high risk of dying from the Corona. All I want to do is buy groceries again.

The staff here are all so friendly. It is a clean store with great selection. Especially during COVID they have really made sure the carts and registers are clean. I have no reason to shop at another store.

A man in front of me at checkout wasn't wearing a mask. When it was my turn I asked the clerk why nothing was said to the man. She answered that although it's required there's no way to enforce the policy. This is mandated by the state. Why can't a simple: Unless you're wearing a mask, we won't check you out. If I see another incident like this I will report Giant Eagle to the state. Look at the White House. Are you not yet convinced at how fast this Coronavirus spreads? Even if you recuperate, there are lasting symptoms.

During this time (pandemic) I wanted to avoid shopping in store so I placed an order through Giant Eagles curb side pickup app. I ordered my items online, scheduled a pickup and 5 days later went to get my order. Upon arrival they told me they were unable to fulfill a large portion of my order, which I completely understand at a time like this. However, after checking my credit card they charged me the full amount. When I called customer service the lady told me that I would need to get her an itemized list of everything I did not receive. The problem was that the list of items I didn't receive was so long and I did not think to write them down as the man was going over them with me at pick up. I told customer service that my app shows the items that they did fulfill and my credit card is showing an amount charged for much more than those items picked up. They still refused to refund me. We will be now be shopping elsewhere.

This is the worst grocery store ever. I don't think I have ever been able to get everything on my list because the shelves are not stocked or I can't find the item. Or the item is stacked so high on the top shelf it's hard to reach-I've climbed many shelves to get what I needed (while employees watch but don't bother to help). It's difficult to maneuver through because there are abandoned carts or dollies with boxes on them. And this is even when they're not under construction! Most of the time there are not enough cashiers so the lines are down the aisles. It's difficult to do self check out if you have a lot of items.

I recently placed a cake order with the bakery. It was for my sons 4th birthday party. I live in Painesville and the cake design that we wanted was completely out of stock at the Painesville, Mentor and Mentor On The Lake Location. After calling the Willoughby store I was so happy to find out that they indeed did have the kit and design ( Hot Wheels) The women who took my order even put me on hold to double check! Fast forward to day of pick up, which I sent my grandfather to pick up as I was busy setting up. He called me once he got there to inform me that they did not have my cake, that they put filed it under the next days orders, and that the order said nothing about the Hot Wheels theme that we discussed! I told my grandfather the name of the employee that originally took my order and the employee chuckled as if she has mad this mistake before. The employee even told my grandfather that they didn't even have the Hot Wheels kit on hand to make the cake. Leaving me with NO solution and 2 hours to find a new cake for my son. When I called the next day to speak to the manager about the situation. She offered me no solution, just an I'm very sorry and I will look into it. I gave her the womens name that originally took my cake order and the manager seemed very uninterested in my problem.

I went to the Florist at the Willoughby Giant Eagle and had a wonderful experience. I bought lavender roses for my Mom's birthday. The florist showed me how to care for the roses to make them last over 2 weeks! We were thrilled with them!

I am really displeased with curb side. Three times I've ordered and three times something was missing without notification or replacement. It's more of a headache to have groceries delivered then to go and do yourself. They need to train their young inexperienced shoppers better. I will be using InstaCart from now on.

This Giant Eagle location has friendly employees, but that's about it. It's not as clean as other Giant Eagles I've been in, the shelves are often empty, and the wait time to check out is inordinately long. I went in this evening to buy a few things, and they were out of ground beef! The meat case was half empty. What bothers me is this store is next to a minority neighborhood; I hate to think Giant Eagle is not investing in it for that reason.

The worst anywhere. Understaffed by idiots and overpriced. Check-out experience is excruciatingly slow because there's usually only one check out open and a self-checkout is always down. These people should be ashamed of themselves
