We arrived at night and these walnuts were all over the ground. We kept tripping on them in the dark, and one fell from a tree and landed on our camper in the middle of the night and scared the crap out of us. Maybe they could trim the trees so tha walnuts aren't falling all over the campsites. Also, our campsite was ridiculously close to another campsite. It felt crowded even though it really wasn't. Thank goodness our neighbors were nice and respectful. The dumpstation was clean. We had reservations for 2 nights and left after one night.

Such a nice quiet park. Slept so well at night. Better than home.

Great trail system, but the camp ground has a lot of sweat bees.

I always loved this place, been going there for over 30 years. Always find something new every time.

Nice, well maintained campground. It is a little too open and grassy for my tastes but if you don’t mind that it is good.

The park is beautiful. We didn’t get to get into the trails or anything, yet. But when we arrived to camp it was super busy. We didn’t realize the campsites were super close together. Firewoood is sold outside the camp or inside for 8 dollars. The bathrooms started out fairly clean and by the end of the night it was basically unusable. And you don’t have privacy for a camping toilet or anything like that.
We had raccoons attack a tent we had because they apparently wanted a medical box. That was not a fun experience to wake up to, they unzip the tents and come back for more!
The park has a great playground, and the story trail is lovely.
We had a ton of ants at our campsite and a tick. So, bug spray is a must.
The ranger(?) drives by it seems like every ten minutes. So, you do have that. It is not a primitive/private experience. We had a camper on our second day walk up in our site and peek in the tent asking a favor when my husband was outside. So, very invasive feeling/space.
Otherwise, I think it is a descent place. But truthfully, I don’t think based on my experience, I don’t think I’d go back.

Nice campground. Sites could be a little longer. Pretty quiet. Wish it had full hookups. Narrow lanes in the campground, which are not one way. Trail hiking is awesome! The trail map is not great.

Clean campground and shower house. Friendly staff. And a variety of hikes to take in the wealth of scenery.

Nice, small park right on the edge of Clifton Gorge on the outskirts of Yellow Springs.

The campgrounds themselves are fine, and there’s lots of beautiful nature around, but everything about this place is a mess. There are hours every day when the office is supposed to be open, yet nobody was there the entire weekend and the doors were locked. The office is where you go to buy wood, so we were unable to. There’s a Host Camper here who we thought maybe had access to get wood, but they weren’t home all day every day until after dark. Also, for some strange reason they lock half the bathroom/shower doors here so people can’t use them. So you end up waiting in line a long time to use the bathrooms and showers. I would not recommend this place.

John Bryan State Park campground offers an easy online booking process and a great selection of campsites. Many spots are conveniently located near restrooms and surrounded by beautiful woods with stunning fall foliage. The campsites are spacious, allowing parking for two cars, and come with an electric supply. Overall, it was a great experience—highly recommended!
