PPG is quite simply the best paint store in the Youngstown area.I might be wrong, but it seems like every employee there has worked in the painting industry for 20+ years. Tell them your project and they will be able to provide you with the perfect product and step-by-step advice that a five year old could follow. Compare that to the high school kid at Lowe's and Home Depot who simply pushes buttons on a computer to mix a gallon of paint (no offense to them, but they just don't have the knowledge and experience that the PPG employees do). The difference in service and product knowledge is night and day.On top of premium service, their product is far superior to the generic brands you'll find at other big stores. The paint goes on smoothly, in one coat, and never drips. It is truly a premium product that makes painting so much easier.An anecdotal example: my first experience with them was painting my kitchen cabinets, which was no small project for an idiot like me. Selena, the store owner, provided me with a step by step process and the perfect product to match each step--the washing solution, the primer, and the paint itself. The washing solution was just strong enough, but not too strong. The primer was perfect for the wood surface. And the paint was just the right finish. Quite literally everything Selena recommended was spot on, and my cabinets look brand new.Another example: my office at work was covered in awful wallpaper. I went to Lowe's because PPG was closed. The employees there had absolutely no clue how best to get the glue off (it was a weird, dusty, industrial glue from the 80s), what type of primer to use (oil vs. water base), or what type of paint to use. I then went into PPG and got everything worked out and, of course, everything went perfectly--they gave me the right solution to get the glue off, they gave me the right primer to make sure no glue ever comes through, and they recommended a paint with the right finish.I've painted my basement, three bedrooms, and my office at work with their products. Everything looks fantastic. I will never, ever, ever buy paint from Home Depot or Lowe's again. I can't recommend PPG's products or services enough.
