I've only been in this state for around 6 months. Walgreens is a staple here just like it is in Charlottesville Virginia. Thanks for being such a wonderful staple around the united states.

Kudos to the staff at this pharmacy. They go out of their way to help. I had issues with my insurance paying for a new drug and they gave me options for alternative solutions. Vanessa went out of her way to help me, even talking to my insurance company. Her kindness and patience led to a satisfactory resolution. Of all the pharmacies I have dealt with over the past 10 years, this one is the best. They do make mistakes now and then, but when they do they are always kind, apologetic and do everything they kind to find a resolution.

As someone who is chronically ill & has gone to tons of pharmacies and 20+ different Walgreens pharmacy locations over the years, this location seems to consistently have the nicest and most efficient pharmacist and employees. There are always going to be some kind of hiccups when dealing with humans (we all make mistakes, pharmacy employees are not excluded), and with so many prescriptions, doctors, insurance, and other sick people (every day on their end), so the customer service is what matters most to me. They speak kindly on the phone & in the store, don’t sound/act like they hate their lives working there (as most other pharmacy employees do), and they have always handled everything quickly too, very on top of things, unlike the busier 24 hour stores. They seem to really do their best & care for their customers, even when so much stuff is out of their control. I really appreciate having them nearby, and that they make the experience a little bit more enjoyable there too!

Pharmacy great!! They spend time with you on questions. Can speak directly with pharmacist instead of tech
trying to answer questions.

Ida and the older white haired woman are the rudest people to deal with. If the pharmacy messes something up, they should fix instead of being so horrible to customers. Two times in a row that one of their people has made a mistake. What decent company keeps employees that scold and talk down to customers when the employees are the ones at fault?

On 1/12 2024 I came to this location 4704 S Elm to pick up my medication through the drive through to my dismay . I used the tube to have my meds to come back out to me before they were sent out I sent over my credit card to pay for the meds . The worker in the window begin to help the other lady in the other window before completing my transaction. How she was holding a full blown conversation with other lady bag up her meds and sent them out to her . I watch the lady drive off then she sent my meds out . I hit the call button and asked her can she send my credit card back out to me . She reply I did I placed it in the envelope which was not there . I then process you gave my credit card to someone else the lady that was at the window because she didn’t and wasn’t paying attention. This caused me to have a delay in my appointment that I had scheduled for a family baby shower which I missed because they had to figure out who had my credit card . I called to have that cancel now which puts me in a dilemma of being able to use my card for a medical procedure that I have also scheduled for next week ??♀️.This is truly not good business and and I can’t believe this to have my life flip upside down and the anxiety and stress this has caused me not to mention any blood pressure elevation. I to now that I can no longer do business here . They were able to track the person down and to the funny part of this story she was pissed that they gave it to her . She scanned her calls and then called back to see why the pharmacy is calling wow. But knew she had someone else credit card. I then had to wait another hour waiting on her to bring it back to store and yet the manager apologized and the young lady that gave my card away . How do one bounce back when we know how the world is . Not only that the insult of this I was offer 10,000 points and drink and snack verse the valise of my card was 3,000 credit limit and having to wait now on another one to come in the mail and medical surgery appointment cancel . Walsgreen could have done better as a long time customer for their error .

To that black woman at the counter: It's ok that you hate your job, but your day would be better if you greeted and thanked your customers! Try it! It may take some of your bitterness away!

Called in a prescription and the automated voice tells me it will be ready at 11:00am the next day. Show up at noon and the teller tells me it “should” be ready at 1:30. Good thing I called it in ahead of time…

I know how hard it can be to find a decent job out here as of late, but please listen to me when I say do not work in a Walgreens pharmacy. I've worked some difficult jobs but this one was the most miserable of all of them and I wouldn't wish what I went through on anybody, besides maybe the coworkers that made it so toxic, I hope they stay and never leave. If you have any mental or physical disabilities of any kind, this will not be the right job for you. You must be EARLY to work, not on time to work. If you punch in less than a minute late you are tardy. If you are a minute late from your 30 minute lunch, you are tardy and in trouble. There are timed bathroom breaks, and you only get a couple bathroom breaks, no matter what is wrong with you, so if you have diagnosed IBS like I do, this will cause accidental conflict even if you speak up about it. If you are sick and it's not covid, you must show up to work. If you do have covid, I believe it's after 5 days off, if you still are testing positive you must still show up to work. Idk if that policy is still in place. Coworkers made inappropriate comments to me about my medications my doctor was prescribing me for my adhd. Management was either really bad or simply hated me, they don't care about their employees at all you are just their little pawn and they expect perfection, Youll put so much effort into this job and be treated terribly by both frustrated thankless customers and coworkers that just don't want to be there. Causes extreme burnout. This is why they are always understaffed, putting more stress and work on their employees. Please love yourself enough to look elsewhere. If you love helping people maybe look into helping adults with disabilities instead it's much more gratifying and understanding work. Just a suggestion
