I booked a kayak rental and was really looking forward to it. Skippa-Rock called me 4 days before my trip and told me they decided to close that day and would not honor my reservation. This is not how you run a business! I should have been given more notice so I could make other plans. I now have to try to find something else with such short notice. They completely failed me and I would not recommend them to anyone. Don’t let them ruin your vacation. There are plenty other options for kayak rentals in this area!

Have your driver's stop at the only stop sign on the trip back from the 5 mile.... it isn't a yield sign.
The business runs pretty smooth, decent place to change clothes, portacans for restrooms, and AC in the office. Kayaks were set out ahead for us and everything worked as it should. Thanks.

I would like to give more stars because this was the place we always used to float the river, but this last experience was awful. we had pre scheduled to do the 9 mi float, but when we showed up we were told that other groups have been waiting for 45 min so we would have to wait. what is the point of pre booking and doing it the right way just to be treated like that. Tippa was able to get us in last min with little to no wait. just lost a long time customer......

This is a great laid back place to go float the river and enjoy nature. Can't wait to go back. We are gonna do the 9 mile next time.

Used Skippa-Rock for floating the river and had an amazing experience. We called them 3 times with questions and they picked up every time and were extremely helpful. Their tubes have a headrest and a cup holder. They offer a tube for your coolers as well. They do not have lockers to store your personal items but have a rack where they keep car keys. They sell phone pouches (I'm not sure the price, I did not purchase). They have a porter potty for restrooms. The people were very nice and on top of it. You jump in an old bus to be driven up the river and dropped off. It was about a 2 hour float but as soon as you finish, you can jump back on the bus and go again! It was a perfect length to stop and have lunch between tubing. Would absolutely go again!

A group of my friends went yesterday for the tubing and the staff there are so friendly. I had dropped my phone in the river, and the owner personally went out to help us find it. Most locations would have said they couldn’t help. But with them being even busy they stopped everything to help us. Definitely will be coming back!

We did the 4 mile kayak trek. The rapids were fun, but they’re pretty intense and there’s not much warning about what you’re getting into. You will likely flip multiple times. Luckily the water isn’t very deep. The water is nice and cold too. However, I wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing a child under the age of 12.
My biggest issue is that when we got there, I went in and paid, and then there was absolutely no direction about what to do. We went outside and waited for 20 minutes, then finally I went inside and asked what to do. They seemed completely unaware that we were there, even though I called ahead and had a reservation. It then took 20 more minutes to get the proper kayaks loaded up on the trailer, which seemed excessively long.
The transportation to the drop off site was fine. They got the kayaks out and helped us get in.
Overall, good river experience, mediocre customer service, and very little direction or logistical smoothness.

I looked over several different kayak places and I’m SO happy I picked Skippa Rock. We did the 5 mile float and as four people who had never kayaked before, we had a great time! We saw some mini rapids, got stuck on a few rocks, but we had the best time on this route!
The guys who picked us up at the end were really friendly and mad conversation they whole time they drove us back. Very hospitable.

First time to kayak, and I had an awesome time with friends. Did the 2 hour trip take. They give you up to 4 hours we took our time. Had lots of fun
