I like this little small nursing home. The staff seem very nice and it appears they are taking good care of my mother and their other residents. Thank you to the staff at Shanoan Springs for taking care of our elderly and NOT being abusive to them like some homes does. I appreciate so much everything you do for my mother.

Great facility with a small community environment. They are aware the patients needs and provide good care. They also have a great view of the Christmas lights and pond.

I was visiting a patient there today. Everyone I asked for help was kind, courteous and never acted like I was interrupting them. They all stopped what they were doing to help me or answer my questions.

My dad has been living here for well over a year. The staff take good care of him and the other residents, treating them with dignity and kindness. It’s an older building, worn and could use updating, but clean and does not smell bad, as some nursing homes do. It is located on the edge of Shannon Springs Park, across the street from the lake. A lovely place, famous for it’s spectacular Festival of Light every Christmas season. Would recommend to anyone needing a nursing home or rehab for a loved one.

My stepdad was at Shanoan springs for 19 months before he recently passed away.2 of the nurses that I frequently talked to were very helpful and kind and 1 in particular seemed to really care about him and that always helped put me at ease. The management definitely needs improved! The business office manager needs to learn how to talk to people and to be nice and not so abrupt with them. The DON Tina needs to communicate with family MORE ESPECIALLY during a pandemic when we are not allowed to go to the facility to see our family and ALSO needs to learn that when writing a news letter/letter that when you copy/paste a link into the newsletter that is NOT HELPFUL as we can NOT click the link on the paper we need the ACTUAL WEBSITE ADDRESS OR FB NAME!! that is common sense 101!! During the entire pandemic she has copied the facilities fb link in the newsletter and that is NOT helpful for us trying to find the fb page especially when she SAYS to check the fb page for updates! My dad was also moved from one room to another TWICE and the 1st time I was NOT told this until AFTER he was moved and I know I am supposed to be given a 3 day notice before he is moved also the 2nd time I was notified the day OF his 2nd room change! The facility also managed to lose my dads GLASSES, watch, cellphone and a picture!! His glasses he was supposed to wear all the time and his watch he had owned for over 10 years and NEVER took it off!! I know stuff gets lost/stolen but GLASSES?!? REALLY?!?As far as the facility-I did not like that there were not bathrooms IN the rooms they had to leave their rooms to go to a community bathroom that literally has a toilet and sink and barely enough room to turn around in.There also is not any kind of reception area-when you walk I to the facility you walk in to the dining room which is weird and awkward. It is a small facility which I was hoping would offer better care than a larger facility but it was about the same as a larger facility.

My stepmother has lived there for over 5 years. She is a retired nurse, and has told me that she loves living there. She has a small dog. The staff built a covered walkway from her unit to the outside, so she could take her dog out, in almost any weather! She has told me many times that the entire staff are excellent! When she was a nurse, she worked as a nursing home inspector.I really believe that she is getting wonderful care.
