We went into Darci’s office in March to file our taxes. She had done our taxes the year before. We had no issues last year. This year, Darci stated the feds owned us around $5000 from the previous year and that she would put a trace on that money. She said she would keep us updated on the status. So in total she thought we would be getting around $8000 back. At the end of March/beginning of April, I received a phone call from her office that there had been a death in the family and she needed to file an extension as it would take her about an additional week and she should be ready to file our taxes just around the April deadline. However, in case she wasn’t ready, she wanted to have the extension in place. I treat others as I want to be treated, I said of course, no problem. And asked for an update on the trace. Her office had no update. A month later we had still not heard anything, this is when we began to call requesting a status. The office was unable to give us any updates. They actually said, we have no idea, we will have to ask. I called in June. The secretary answered the phone and stated Darci was out of the office on harvest. The secretary said she would call us back after she spoke with her that night. A week later, no call. I call again, the staff member then says that we didn’t come in until May and Darci was really busy, and was quite rude. I explained that we had come in in March and just wanted to know the status. After more phone calls with zero answers or an apology for not responding, we just got the call they were done. They were about half of what we were expecting. We paid and left. And yet again, there was no apology or explanation as to why they were half, why no one could call back. I understand deaths, harvest, etc. However, the lack of accountability was appalling. I am so disappointed and sad to be treated the way we were. Do better. I’m leaving a public review because my numerous attempts to rectify this with Darci have been blatantly ignored. We are business owners. We are beyond busy. But if Darci was too busy to handle our taxes or our phone calls she should have said so and we would have gone else where.
