I don’t shop at Dollar General regularly. But because I was in Durant, most of the month, I made several purchases. I went into the store today to return four items purchased on two different receipts. The only thing that was open was a universal remote that did not work. There was an instant “you’re bothering me” vibe from across counter. I took out the four items in place the receipt for them on top. She looked at the receipts and then took a minute to look at her watch so I don’t know if it was time for her to go or what this situation was, but she had no business helping me with the attitude that she had . She said, “ well first of all that cannot be returned” and she pointed to baby ibuprofen that I purchased for a puppy. I don’t have a baby this was purchased for a puppy, and I never opened the box as I found out that it can be toxic to puppies. Which I found strange that she said that because I’d already looked at the return policy on the Dollar General website And read through it in detail before going back to the store. So I told her to the website says that it can be returned. She says well you can come back when my manager is here because that’s what I was told. Nothing but attitude.
She returned the universal remote off one receipt and then Told me I had to take the other two items Back to the store that I purchased the matt because even though there’s nothing wrong with the receipt, her scanning gun could not read. There’s more than one register In the store, she could’ve gone to one of the other registers, and then the return. The problem wasn’t the receipt. The problem was the scanning gun that she was using. she’d had trouble bringing up the universal remote. The girl was rude and just plain lazy. Seriously?? If you don’t want your job, don’t show up go get another one. Nobody is forcing you to have this job, so did not want to do your job or to make it more difficult on other people just because you’re lazy is ridiculous. I actually made the other purchase at the Dollar General on the other side of Durant. What if I purchased it in another town? You have told me to go back to that store what if it was in Dallas but I need to drive back to Dallas to make this return. Certainly become lazy in this route today. She’s seemed very comfortable with the way that she She was handling me. I didn’t argue with her object, anything or even states some of the obvious things that she could’ve done Helpful to do her job. I let it go because I’m having a good day and I don’t like that type of negativity. There’s plenty of people that are looking for jobs out there if she doesn’t want her, Dollar General needs to hire somebody somebody that actually wants to be there. Want to do your job at the lazy effects customers then there is an issue there. I’m driving to another Dollar General and I’m gonna ask them if she could’ve type the numbers at the bottom of the receipt or if she was just being lazy and I’m pretty sure with the answer is going to be. But I’m not going to the Dollar General that I originally purchased this product at Just to see how full of it she really is..

Wasted my luch break going there and waiting in line. I understand having to put trucks up, but to leave a customer waiting for 10 minutes in line, when you see him waiting, do nothing. Someone is going to rob yall blind and then you won't have to worry about putting any trucks up. Shitty customer service!

Dollar General is my favorite place to grab a few things in a hurry, especially the store on 1st Avenue, the staff there are very friendly, and very quick, short, & sweet when it's clear you're not feeling very sociable. ?

It's convenient to have any store this close since the short stop closed years ago, but not for food or meds. Something is always wrong with either. Examples:
1. Sodas have been flat.
2. Canned food is sometimes disintegrated inside cans (no dents on cans)
3. Frozen foods taste... chemically? Inedible.
4. Basic meds like ibuprofen don't work.
Nothing against the staff, and I know Dollar General isn't luxurious, but these are simple low end items that we buy at any of the town grocery stores without these problems. It really is like everything is past it's expo date here. So unless you need something like a bandage wrap or dish soap, I'd go elsewhere.

Stopped by just after 4pm and the doors were locked with a sign saying they were temporarily closed. Several cars pulled in and went elsewhere when they saw the sign on the door. What's up with that?

I'll never return to this store because I can't depend on them to be open with their hours of operation. Their closing time says 10PM, but they were closed well before 10PM.
