Do not visit the the OU Breast facility in Edmond. Their new billing department will change your appointment type without talking to you first and bill for more costly procedures. I called, confirmed my appointment , verified what I would be charged and then received my bill which didn’t match what I was told. I have proof of their bait and switch and I was offered a lousy 20% discount which is still hundreds more than I was quoted. I’m so disappointed and so tired of being taken advantage of by insurance. I will not be returning and will not be recommending them.

Billing DOES NOT CARE THAT TRICARE TAKES TIME. The billing department sends bills that are currently being processed by Tricare to collections to screw the credit of stationed, active duty families for fun, despite communicating all delays with Tricare. There was zero attempt by the billing office to contact Tricare about why obviously covered services were having issues, and initially got denied in error. I had to do that, and it didn't matter. It's still processing through Tricare. It wouldn't have hurt them to wait for Tricare to reprocess. They definitely want to hurt military families. I don't know if I'll go in for another Mammogram again. Certainly not a routine one without serious cause, and certainly not to this clinic.

I was so nervous about getting my first exam. The staff was so patient, genial and understanding and put me right at ease!! Even making my appointment by phone was some of the best customer service I’ve had at a dr office, in awhile. It is by far, more comfortable then getting a PAP SMEAR! As long as I am in Oklahoma, I will be coming here! And I 100% will be recommending it to all my lady friends ❤️ thank you for everything

I had my first mammogram at this location. I had to come back for more pictures and ultrasound. Dr Fredrick and her team were kind and proficient and professional and explained every step. I ended up going through a lot more procedures that coordinated with other drs and hospitals. Everything turned out fine in the end. Dr Fredrick sent me a handwritten note to say she was glad everything went well and wished me a speedy recovery. Getting a handwritten note from your doctor doesn’t happen very often . I was touched ❤️

Covid19 emergency order is over according to Governor Stitt. 5/21. Time for OU to honor mask exemptions. Is Yelling part of mask mandate ?Is being hung up on professional ? Need a sono follow up but got hung up on. Hope it is just calcium again & not something that will kill me.Did everyone at OU flunk virology ? Masks don’t work on a virus. Healthy can’t spread a disease they don’t have.

I have gone here for years and this past year they billed me for my Mammogram which I have NEVER had to pay for. Still have the same insurance but they didn't bother to tell me they apparently don't take Aetna Whole Health insurance. I have had to pay out this bill and then I receive another one from OU Physicians that I don't even know why since it also has the mammogram listed. I will NEVER go back to this place. You better check before you have anything done cause if they don't take a certain insurance they will not tell you before.. Aetna customer service sucks and they don't do anything to help at all.

Update: I was contacted by the facility because of this review. They finally understood my concern and even brought up another issue I hadn’t even noticed. All issues have been completely resolved and they have modified some of their processes to ensure no one else goes thru this ordeal. My faith and trust in this facility has been restored!I have happily used and trusted this facility for the past 10 years. However, after my last visit, I will never go back. Back in August I called to schedule my yearly preventative mammogram. This procedure is, and always has been, covered 100% by my insurance. During the call the scheduler asked if I was having any problems — seems like a typical question. Because she asked, I told her that I had a small amount of pain on one side. With that basic bit of information she proactively designated the appointment as a diagnostic mammogram (vs preventative). The only difference being that I am now being billed over $700! When I first got the bill I was not at all concerned and was sure there was an error. I immediately visited the facility to straighten it out. When there I spoke with a billing specialist who explained what had happened and why the appointment was set as diagnostic —- she had my record in hand and defended the bill by reminding me that I had told the scheduler of my “pain”. I explained that when I called to schedule the appointment I only wanted what I had always received and what I believe I asked for. I absolutely do not feel that I should be penalized for, what I now believe, are their unethical scheduling practices. At some point in this conversation I said that I couldn’t possibly be the only patient this had happened to. She said definitely not, she speaks with at least 6 women a week with this same complaint. She even told me that she’s brought it up with management and they have refused to change their scheduling practices. As I now understand, most reputable breast health clinics require a referral before scheduling a diagnostic mammogram. This is to ensure that it is truly a necessity —- as it was definitely not in my case. In fact the actual procedure was exactly the same as all my previous appointments with the exception of getting the results immediately vs in the mail. I have spoken with the billing department 4 separate times now and am getting no where. I have offered to pay 1/2 immediately to resolve the issue finally — despite the fact that I don’t feel I should even owe that. They have refused my offers. I believe this facility is deliberately digging for any issue at all to justify scheduling appointments that will net their facility a higher pay out. They are preying on the fear of women and the fact that the general patient will trust that they have our best interest in mind. My advice for anyone choosing to use this facility is to give zero information to the scheduler other than requesting a preventative mammogram. I know, in the future I will think twice before offering up medical information to an appointment scheduler via the phone. And that is not right but apparently necessary.
