Quaint little shop with great people running the show. A little bummed that my Fort Sill mug was made in China ... but overall great crafts and knick knacks.

We drove through Fort Sill because my husband had been stationed there. We went to the Apache cemetery and visited Geronimo’s grave. It is very simple and surrounded by the graves of his family members. It was very emotional even though there is very little information about him at the site. We arrived too late to visit any of the museums there.

At the base visitor center last Sunday we indicated the purpose of our visit was to see the museum, and we received a pass. Again at the gate we stated the museum was our destination and we were instructed to follow the blue line — which lets to the building on the picture, but not to the museum. When we finally found the museum (thank you for the map) it was CLOSED. Had we been advised upon arrival that the museum is only open Mon-Sat we would have saved much time. This appears to be a disorganized army institution.

It was really cool saying an original structure still standing after all of these years. Amazing history that still remains.

A mandatory thorough check in at the base visitor center was an eye opener. Many artillery weapons on display along with tributes to the soldiers who paid the ultimate price. Very touching. 3 museums and an Indian graveyard with Geronimo's grave.
