Alabaster Caverns State Park is home to one of the largest natural gypsum caves in the world and is the only gypsum show cave in the United States. The park offers daily guided tours of the cavern, departing every hour from 9 AM to 4 PM, with a maximum of 40 visitors allowed for safety. Each tour provides insightful and educational experiences along a well-lit path, and tickets can be purchased at the ranger building. Group tours are available for school and youth groups with prior reservations. Visitors have praised the beauty of the surrounding countryside and enjoyed hiking in the area. Many have experienced wild caving and appreciated the chance to see something new during each visit. The park also features a small campground with a clean shower house, although some areas may need a fresh coat of paint. This is one amazing place. Both above ground and, of course, under ground. Jennifer was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the caverns and their history. I will go back some time for sure.
