I was an employee at Gateway and loved my job, my team the people I worked with enjoyed going into work every morning. If you are thinking about going to work for Gateway here's some advice Whatever you do DO NOT use Gateway First Bank as your primary bank account. They offer no overdraft fees which is true but once you have a couple of overdrafts Gateway's HR department will go through your bank account to see why you have overdrafts and will ask you about them. Yes this is legal since Gateway Mortgage and Gateway First Bank are the same. Gateway will use this against you, you can be terminated, laid off or whatever excuse HR uses. HR calls it stealing from the company. Keep in mind this is Governor Stitts company you see how he spent his last term running the state of Oklahoma well his company is run worse.

We used Gateway to refi our rental property. Reagan was amazing! The entire process from start to finish was so simple. She kept us informed with each step along the way and even got an earlier closing date for us. Thank you Gateway and Reagan!

I had been trying for several weeks to get a loan approval from TTCU. I had already had one so I thought it would be simple. It was terrible. Then I found the house I wanted so I asked my realtor if she knew of a good mortgage lender. She got me in touch with Reagan Ford at Gateway. Reagan went way above and beyond to help me in every way through the process. She made sure everything was done in a timely manner and we were able to close even sooner than expected. I was sent neat little videos regularly explaining where we were in the process every step of the way.

I wouldn't choose them to be my Linder. They are not transparent and hard to communicate with. Try to come up with their own rules to rip you off. Unfortunately my loan was sold to them and they changed the agreement

Gateway Mortgage is our current loan servicer for our Texas Veterans Land Board Loan, administered through the VA. Gateway Mortgage bought our loan from Academy Mortgage Corporation almost immediately after we closed. At the time we closed, Academy mortgage had falsified our closing documents to make it seem we had purchased a hazard insurance policy along with our homeowners policy. We had not nor had we ever been asked to and didn't have it. Academy Mortgage knowingly sold this mortgage to Gateway Mortgage implying in the contents that we had. Upon review we found "Hazard" beside the blocks for homeowners insurance in several places. When Gateway bought our loan we received notices stating the loan had been transferred and the servicer was changing but that EVERYTHING else about the terms of the loan would remain the same. The terms of the loan as per our closing documents and when we signed the LEGALLY BINDING MORTGAGE CONTRACT was $1,289 Principal and Interest and $88 escrow for insurance payments. This made our monthly payment$1,377.00. We closed with the assumption, based on the closing disclosure, which is basically a "good faith estimate" of what our payment will be so that we know what to expect. We were expecting this amount to be more or less the payment for the duration of the mortgage. We purposefully chose this property and this mortgage company due to the fact that the price of the property and the interest rate we were quoted added up to a reasonable house payment. My husband is a 100% disabled Veteran who is on a fixed disability income. This is what we could afford. We wouldn't have proceeded with the purchase if it had been higher.Gateway Mortgage started servicing our loan on 4-21-22, we closed on our mortgage on 4-8-22. This speed alone makes me very suspicious of the relationship between these two companies...We heard noting more from Gateway Mortgage until we received a letter from them the end of June. The letter was dated 6-22-22. This letter informed us that we would need to have Windstorm Hazard Insurance in order to satisfy the requirements of our Mortgage. They stated we could purchase this or they would purchase this for us at a higher cost.We assumed this would be maybe an additional $50 per month. We pursued this by ourselves and it was next to impossible to obtain. Our home had a new roof in 2019 that they did not record with the county as required in our area so no one the HUGE list would insure us or would only insure at amount over $5,000 per year. The two companies that would insure us, State Farm and Professional Insurance, required that we switch our entire homeowners insurance policy to them...a policy that was nearly twice as much...not even including the windstorm insurance. The windstorm insurance polices we were quoted ranged between $2800 to $3,200 per month. This would add between $260-$300 per month., a considerable amount over the estimate and out of our comfort zone. In addition the premium per month would increase from $88.00 to $214. In total our payment would be at least $1,776. A considerable amount over the estimate and completely out of our firmly set budget. After we consulted legal aid organizations and the VA we found that this DID change the terms of our loan and it couldn't legally be enforced without a mortgage loan modification between us and Gateway Mortgage. Based on this we contacted Gateway Mortgage and declined to purchase the Windstorm Insurance. Every month after this, we received a letter dated the 22nd of that month. It stated the same thing and threatened the force placed insurance. We contacted them each month after receiving this letter, patiently refusing the coverage based on the information we had.We paid our mortgage payment, in full, every month, on time and it was accepted as a full payment and applied. We received a new annual escrow statement the end of October 27 in which they added the force place insurance. This escrow statement charged us a shortage payment of over $600 for the 6 months they accepted our ag

The irony with which the OK governor uses Gateway to show how good at business he is. Just a heads up to anyone looking for a loan--this company was voted one of the 15 SHADIEST lenders!!

This company is horrible! Lost paperwork and information that I sent them while trying to buy a house and would not communicate with each other at all. Their underwriting department is the WORST and Carla that works in underwriting obviously has no idea how to do her job correctly. Sandy was completely disorganized and was really bad at communicating with me and the realtor. It was a horrible experience and I’m almost glad that they screwed things up so badly that we didn’t close on the house because I wouldn’t want to be stuck with these people for the duration of my mortgage.

They ran my credit 5 times for 3 different loans Processing took over two months. Finally got turned down for the last loan due to "not being employed at my current position for 12 months" I was trying to get a VA loan and separated from active duty less than 4 months ago. Even though my current job coincided with my military job they wouldn't have it. Lack of communication, there were days we called 7-8 times between me my wife and the realtor with no answer or callback. Tina Johnson sucks at her job and I'm surprised she still has one. My credit is too bad after the 5 hard inquiries, I will not be able to buy a house for the next few years more than likely. Thanks for screwing my family over gateway

Fast and Easy refinance with Tulsa Mortgage LenderWe decided to take advantage of low interest rates and could not be happier that we chose Gateway Mortgage. We have always been with another lender in town and found this online application much simpler and quicker. We also opened a savings account as the rates were great!

At Gateway it's obvious they truly value their clients. They made it possible for me and my wife to buy our first house, and their excellent customer service gave us comfort during an otherwise stressful time. Highly recommend!
