If you're looking for a place in Lawton, I would skip Legend Park. Currently on the search for an apartment myself and when I went to view apartments last week, a 1 bedroom/1 bath was under $1,000. I returned the following day to discuss details and when I checked the website it was nearly $1,200! Less than 24 hours between showings and a $200 price jump with no change to the apartments! When I asked Angie about it, she said she was "99.5%" positive that price was wrong and would call me about it the following Monday to confirm. I never received a phone call so I called on Tuesday and a man who did not introduce himself confirmed that the $1,200 was the new correct price. I explained my situation and said I wished I'd been warned before viewing that there was going to be a massive price hike the following day and he said nothing. I feel like I've been caught in a bait-and-switch.Beyond that, there were problems with both customer service and the apartments themselves.Angie, despite being friendly, reveals way too much information about herself and it made both me and my father uncomfortable. When we were trying to view apartments she did not know which keys went to which particular style of home. She also gave me keys to someone else's apartment on accident! It seems that this is not out of the norm in the leasing office and that everyone is extremely disorganized. In addition, prior to my showing she received a phone call from a tenant saying his heat was out- keep in mind it was less than 32 degrees outside when this happened- and she took me to see apartments before contacting the maintenance man. While I appreciate that she wanted to show my home quickly, given the weather though I think calling the maintenance man first would've been better, especially since it showed me how maintenance requests are prioritized at a property that charges so much for so little. By the time she'd called the maintenance man he said he'd already left the property and that it'd be several hours until he was able to check out the problem. The apartments themselves are fine, but not impressive, especially for the price. The first apartment I saw had several very large water spots on the ceilings and the carpet was separating from the walls and hardwood of the kitchen. The second apartment had water damage under the sink warping the inside of the cabinet. Every apartment I saw had cleaner left in the back of the oven that had dried on, and had water bottles left in the fridge/freezer or trash that had been left behind. Given that these were move-in ready apartments, there's clearly not a thorough enough process to ensure apartments are actually move-in ready. The gate to the Phase 1 part of the apartments was broken, thus open and defeating the purpose of a gated community. The box to the Phase 2 part of the apartments was also broken, meaning that you can't contact the office to let you in for a viewing unless you actually call them. The walking gate was also left open, once again defeating the purpose of a gated community. During my tour when I asked about the broken gate and the many reviews online about it, Angie pretty much swept off my comments, mostly remarking that people shouldn't be breaking them if they wanted the gates to work.My whole process dealing with this apartment complex feels like a waste of time. Genuinely, military members looking to get off post- look towards the Bristol (who has phenomenal customer service and are cheaper), District SIX10 (who also has phenomenal customer service and are cheaper), or even the Flats at MacArthur (which are directly across the street, but much nicer, and now following the price hike at Legend Park- also cheaper!)

Everything was great with the complex except for the staff in the office, especially the manager, Jessica. The front desk ladies are unprofessional and do not understand their jobs. Before I left my apartment, I made sure it was cleaner than their faces, However, they ended up charging me $100 for nothing after I received the deposit check. I apologize to the owner of the complex, and I am unsure of how he could have hired those individuals. they are liars, and unprofessional. Guys don’t trust them.

Military/CCC/BOLC Read thisWhen I first tried to move in, the staff gave me keys to my apartment and told me they had inspected it and it was good to go. Once I went to move in, the apartment was flooded and disgusting. (Pictures Attached) I was then forced to take a different apartment. I had to change from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom which really threw a wrench in my plans. I got a $150 discount on the unit but in my opinion I feel like I still had been wronged due to their lack of attention to detail. The gates almost never worked. After I complained they fixed my gate the next day. However, the phase 1 gate remained broken over 90% of my lease. I think paying for a premium apartment with a gate was prt of the deal and they should honor that. I was given 2 key fobs when I moved in and most of my friends were not. Fitting into the keypad lane is a major pain and its a piece of junk. The fact that they cant get key fobs for the finite amount of apartments they have is ridiculous. The phase 2 pool was open for a total of less than 90 days. They closed it before the last day of summer on the calendar. The weather was 80-90° for weeks after that. The maintenance and cleaning of the pools is also awful. They say they do it once a week but even then, there is no way.My apartment had lots of damage when I moved in and they still tried to charge me for the same damage when I moved out. Large patches on walls and even doors. Poorly installed carpets. The washer, dryer, and dishwasher were extremely old. Washer didn’t even work at first. Put in a work order to have it fixed and the maintenance person said “it was running up to manufacturer specs.” It would not drain and sounded like a warzone in the laundry room. Finally after a second attempt another maintenance man came and said it needed to be replaced completely. Thank god. The dryer wasnt getting hot and just flipping for the full time. That they were able to fix. The dishwasher is probably from 2005 and was practically worthless to wash and dry dishes. The trash service is a scam. We should be able to opt out. $15 per month per unit for 1 time a week. Would love to see the profit breakdown for a couple of hours of work a week. The trash situation is also pretty nasty. 1 compacter in phase 2 for 10 buildings? Maybe that makes sense if you come to compact the trash a couple of times per day? But they don’t.Last thing, if you are military, you need to put your orders in at least 60 days in advance. That allows you to avoid paying the full month rent when you leave. The typical 30 days doesnt work. They base it on 30 days before that month starts or something like that. Just be careful.I think overall it’s a leadership problem by the staff. The management company should reevaluate how to truly run a “luxury” complex even if it’s in lawton.

Lived here quite a while ago, but the property still looks great, and I would consider moving back if I didn't own my own home!

I don't live there, but I have been on the property before and I can speak from that experience. The management is nice, the outside looks nice, they have storage units available for tenants, right down the road from carriage hills. I mean you walk to school everyday, saving gas and traffic. They have fenced in property, a pond on property, don't know if they have fish or if it is just scenery, a gym. They only have up to three bedrooms, and not the cheapest, but if they had a 4 bedroom I would have moved there.

I live on the first floor and theres a family with kids in the unit right above me. I understand you cant prevent kids from running around and stomping, but the walls and floors are like hollow and you can hear everything the other unit is doing. The gate doesnt work more than half the time and the gate keypad is shifted off to the right and its a tight fit for trucks and the front office said “we dont have to issue one to you, you have the keypad”The “amenities” at this complex is a joke, everything is run down or under “repairs” all the time.New management raised rent like $300. This is THE MOST EXPENSIVE apartment complex for no reason. It looks nice but thats all they offer.

Lived there for a few years and they were recommended to me as the best for that area especially since I was active duty and had no other choice. There isn’t proper upkeep on a lot of the property. The playground is old and sometimes flooded. Residents were driving erratically through the complex when there are multiple children. The pool was open a few times but closed frequently. There were some events that were held in the office during my time there but it was disappointing when they were advertising food trucks and then the trucks would never arrive.During my time there the gate was broken often or left open and residents had break ins on their vehicles. Which seemed to always be a reoccurring theme. When I moved after retirement the management stole my deposit. They claimed it was because I didn't hire a carpet cleaning service and I didn't clean but I have pictures and videos of my dad and family helping to clean since I have knee injuries. I offered To send them over the proof and they offered to review and then never responded. My access to the portal was then removed. So like many apartments they will steal your deposit or do their best to claim there a a laundry list of move out charges. They do a lot of sketchy items like most apartment management . There were always mysterious charges on my account and I would have to call to have them removed .Regardless you would expect that they would need to clean carpets when new residents rent but there are reviews of resident complaining of dirty carpets and apartments. A competitor would be better off building new true luxury apartments and reading these reviews in order to improve upon the poor quality and customer service.

Not the "luxury" they're making themselves out to be. The gate is kept opened more than half the time throughout the year. Ridiculous rent price, far away from everything else, residents don't pick up their dogs' poop so the place looks trashy at times. They REQUIRE you to pay for professional carpet cleaning before moving out or they take $85 from your deposit. After changing management they got rid of the complimentary twice a week valet trash. Instead, you pay $15 a month just to throw your own trash because the one day they do valet tends to fall on a holiday and they won't pick up until the next week. God forbid a holiday falls on the same day 2 weeks in a row. Found somewhere cheaper and more space, would never rent there again.

The office staff is very informative and quick to respond. Truly good professionalism. However, you are going to pay a premium every step of the way. I don't think the pricing is competitive considering cost of living in the surrounding area.

Ashley, the office assistant is extremely rude when requesting to terminate the lease with notice, however, her supervisor, Jessica was informative and professional in her response.

Warning!! Do not live here if you have a family and children. The office here breaks into your house without telling you in advance. Yes, they violate the contract policy, which states that they are not entitled to enter your home and invade your privacy without your knowledge.I urge you people to be careful and find a safer complex .The manager Jessica Beck is the worst person u can deal with especially if u are foreigners. She is arrogant and unprofessional.Other issues that have been said in the comments about the money yes it’s true. The manager will add more charges in you monthly payment for no reason. It’s wast of your time and life which u want to focus more in your courses not with the lease office.Highly unrecommended.
