I've been using this storage facility since 2015 or 2016 and have always received stellar services. I wish they would offer a relocation package where they'd ship my belongings to my current state. This would make them the best of the best.

After my dad passed i got a unit to store my moms and my belongings in Norman ok on 24th. Tornado hit it they said our unit was okay, went to get everything out about 6 months latter and a huge hole on the side of our unit rain , mice and bugs have entered inside. Things i had kept that belonged to my Dad was ruined. after getting everything out, I even noticed a few things missing. My Christmas tree was ruined from mice, who made their home in the box and chewed up the wires. Mice got into a box of photo albums and chewed it up. Bugs , roaches spiders dead mice . we took out insurance that they have there when we rented the unit. took pictures of the damage and informed the people in the office… informed the insurance agent and nobody wants to give us what we insured for. We have got zero we have made payments for six months to this place after a tornado hit it..on a storage unit that was supposed to be OK but instead the stuff was ruined. If we had known that we would have already took everything out and not paid monthly on a useless unit! we have try to work with them and made several calls and nothing is getting taken care of. They are now ignoring our phone calls.

We are disappointed in general with extra space storage. We have had a unit for a few years. My first experience was that they doubled our rate just a few months after getting a unit! They did adjust it back, but recently doubled it again! I can understand a small increase yearly, but doubling is unacceptable. They also charged tenants for periods with little or no access to units after the tornado. They did not communicate with tenants well during this period.

I'd give them 5 stars BUT, a tornado hit the complex, I still got charged for my unit for months without having access to my things.

I chose Extra Space Storage based on my first phone call interaction with them. Their customer service was excellent and they have been extremely helpful from the first day I was in my unit to the last.

I have used this Extra Space Storage probably three or four separate times over the past 15 years, including for the past 5.5 years. I have been happy enough with them for it to be my default. During the past couple of years, their rates have gone up significantly, but I stayed.On February 28th, this location was struck by an EF0 tornado. It didn't suck everything away, but it created quite a mess for customers, and to the various buildings at this facility. It took about 8 weeks before they could allow customers to access their "stuff". I cannot imagine how difficult this has been for the company to manage this event. The folks there were always pleasant to deal with when I spoke with them. I had to reach out to them every time. They did not provide updates unless I called and asked. Once they were able to allow access to the facility, all I was told was that I had to schedule an appointment - which allows them to assess the customer and their stuff (there were some people attempting to gain access so they could steal from others). I live about a ten hour drive from Norman now. When I arrived, I had not scheduled an appointment as it was the middle of the week, and they provided no indication of days they would be closed or operating hours (I had asked about hours and what were the rules). When I arrived, they were closed for two days due to district meetings, so I lost those two days. Once I got in, everyone was great to deal with, but I would get notice of closing for the day minutes before, or after, the closing time. They were closed again on Sunday - which I did not find out until Saturday evening, five minutes after their scheduled closing time. Communication is KEY when dealing with customers. Send mass emails to the customer list - EVEN if the news is bad, or their is no news. What is a website for if it is just the generic address, available storage unit sizes, and rates? It would be a perfect place to post updates and guide customers to for what to expect! I realize this was an extraordinary situation to have to manage. I believe they did a very capable job until it came to communicating with their customers. I no longer trust them for storage.

Have rented for 3 years. Starting rent 125.50 for 10'x20' non climate controled. Now 306.50. It seems they have issues with the lights often. And now there hasn't been a camera for over a year facing my unit.Since the tornado I still haven't been able to access my unit. Feel bad for others that have to rummage to find their belongings. Mine seems fine. But at this point I'd rather go find a cheaper rate elsewhere.

Jonathan and the staff was so nice and friendly and were so helpful with our stuff. Nothing was damaged by the tornado and we are so thankful for all the work they put into protecting our stuff!!

No one has contacted me to update me on the status of my storage unit or payment since the storm hit in Norman over a month ago. I had to move into a new apartment without my bed, textbooks or clothing that was all located in the storage unit. Very displeased with their communication.

A total mess since the February 26, 2023 tornado. The property has NOT been open since that date. Buildings were destroyed, others severely damaged. Tenants have not been able to get into the site to check on their property. Management has made vague statements that an engineer will make sure the property is safe but no information has been provided after several missed deadlines. Yet the company continues to bill tenants for storage units they are unable to access. There has been no information from the owners regarding short or long term disaster recovery plans. Some honest information from Extra Space would be greatly appreciated. Right now their listed hours of operation are an outright lie.

The unit was great! I loved the app and being able to open the gate from my phone! Very helpful customer service! Highly recommend for the SE Norman area!
