“The seller and I could not find a bank that would work with us to secure a mortgage on his house because it was deemed to be "unique"-- some of them stating that the barn style roof made the house a "barndominium" and therefore virtually untouchable. Even Rocket Mortgage, who claims to be quick and easy, turned us down inside of ten minutes--again citing the "unique" roof as a disqualification. The situation was so hopeless that the seller allowed me to enter into a Contract for Deed until a mortgage could be secured.I found Cheryl Koontz and the First United Mortgage Group after three years of searching other dead ends.
