I reserved a premium car through Costco at this Avis location and the description stated "all the bells and whistles". I specifically was looking for automatic seat adjustment. There were no rentals with automatic seats and the customer service agent at the kiosk outside gave me an attitude of too bad so sad, not my problem. I was told to go change it with the inside agent and come back out to see if the new car had auto adjusting seats and to keep trying until I found one. Thankfully Stan at the inside desk, was more empathetic and did his best to find the car that i contracted for, but to no avail. I have rented here with Enterprise many times and have never had an issue, and shouldn't have tried something different. I will never rent with Avis again as this is the second time in 2 months that I've had issues at two different locations. The only reason I give two stars instead of one is because of the service i received from Stan.

We switched to Avis after four terrible experiences with another car rental agency which we had been with for 20 years. Avis provided the car that we wanted in a parking space listed on the arrival kiosk. The other large car rental agency has the "choose" option which we hate. We are very happy with Avis.

If you want to wait in line forever..use Avis at the OKC Will Rogers airport. Only one person at the counter.. already been here 20 minutes, and the line has hardly moved. Enterprise has no one at the counter. Might try that one next time. Finally made it out after 35 minutes of standing in a line.

Terrible experience at OKC Will Rogers. Flight arrived on time, early in the morning, only to find that we were unable to exit the rental car parking lot due to parked/locked rental cars blocking the exit - with no attendees. Apparently this is a known issue and almost a daily problem according to security guards. We were just a few of the many stranded passengers this day. Forced to rent a hotel room and incur additional, unexpected expenses which Avis refused to reimburse. Woke up first thing and returned to get the car, only to have to wait another 20 minutes for staff to get to the exit booth (way past their scheduled opening time). Ridiculous business practice.

The rental process was fantastic and efficient BUT insurance was added that we did not need. It was late and we were exhausted and just thankful to have found a rental on short notice. Once we noticed insurance was added, we called and were told we would need to return to the airport rental location to have it removed. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. What I thought would be a $225 rental ended up being a $384 rental for less that 48 hours. It is ridiculous this cannot be adjusted by phone. A total rip off and for this reason I will not be using AVIS in the future.

Tried to recover some items from lost and found. Was given the run around for several weeks until I finally tracked down Austin whom I was told was responsible and was told to get bent.

Doubtful surcharge gas practices when returning the car. Watch out and keep all proof of gas receipts and photo of the returned dashboard on your rental. Specially when returning without someone checking your car off.

The maintenance issues others have highlighted are accurate. Horrible experience here as a preferred member particularly from Viv (not sure of her actual name because when I asked her name there was a distinct pause as she thought of a fake one). Returned a ford escape (that had 45k miles on it) 16 hours after renting it because it shook and shimmied once I got to 65 mph. I let the desk person know maintenance was required but I’m confident it was put straight back into rotation. Then I was given a Mitsubishi outlander whose USB ports did not work (so therefore I couldn’t plug in my phone for directions). Went to the preferred hut in the parking lot and had to wait 40 seconds for two employees to finish chatting before even acknowledging I was standing there. I brought the USB issue to Viv’s attention and she cut me off saying “we don’t guarantee the functionality of any features.” I said I wanted the car to be safe and work. She relented and found a new car but huffed and puffed as she did. She had no apologies for me having to make an additional trip to the airport to address this mess nor the runaround I was getting. I finally left with a Jeep Compass whose engine light came on a few hours before I returned it days later. It did the trick but three cars to get one that worked was excessive. And good luck ever getting someone at that branch on the phone for any reason (like if your flight is severely delayed) - according to Avis corporate, phone support stops there at 7:30 pm which makes no sense. If I wasn’t preferred through my credit card I’d avoid this place and just use enterprise. As it was, I don’t think that status got me anything anyway.

For years, I've been loyal to Avis due to its easy booking, car selection, and rewards. But let me highlight James, the manager at this location, who's a remarkable customer service hero. Twice he swiftly and tactfully resolved issues I faced, making him an invaluable asset. Such dedication is rare to find. Thank you, James!

Booked through Priceline. Guy in front of me was offered a dodge challenger or a dodge charger. I walk up for my turn in line. I was given an EV (in Oklahoma??? Seriously?) and I begged for a gas car due to my stay being out of the way of an EV station. Was told “sorry, no gas cars available, only EV”, even though I told him my situation AND mentioned the guy in front of me. Offered me a… Nissan armada… for $25 more a day. Instead of just giving me the gas guzzler as a “sorry about that”, I was offered an up charge. Should’ve asked for the manager but instead I’m now stranded with an EV.
