The poorest ethic of manager, called Esmeralda, decides that her role is solely for the purpose of her check but forgot that the costumer is always right. She decides is absolutely appropriate to have a disagreement with the costumer before the costumer even purchases anything. Completely disrespectful, completley lack of buisness ethic in the all posible way. 2 cashiers for the day. She talks her ear off with another woman. We other costumers have stuff to do and I WILL NEBER GO BACK HERE AGAIN, i rather waste my entire gas. P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C!!!!!!!

I was an employee of this Corporate offices' Norman location, not only did I have to personally request a employee handbook 4 weeks after being hired but anytime I called corporate because their managers at Smart Saver were unprofessional and deliberately disobeying their own policies in front of employees and demeaning to some customers, Corporate would turn it around on me. At the very end directing me to a Support phone line specifically for employees even though I never once requested it yet all the while they had Front End Managers on camera crying during a storm While customers were standing in their check-out lines?!? I don't understand their theories on that one or the fact that they (Corporate) claims this is a "Christian-based" company. They have managers firing people left and right and when asked for a reason, none of which could be substantiated nor were my claims looked into either. I'd say they need to take a long hard look at their ethics and company values, much of what I reported was on camera, if not all but everything I heard from their Smart Saver location was "for Hank"... didn't hear any of it being for the customer, personally, I've never met the guy and I worked there for quite a few months, the guy is lazy and does not take much pride in his business if this is how he is running it. This was the impression I had the entire time I was here but as a cashier and the few times I filled in for a front end manager I thoroughly enjoyed my position working for the Customers, this is not to be confused for the people I worked for/with.Response to the Owner:I'm very sorry to hear this Hank guy never got to meet me either, I am a one of a kind individual myself as well:). And yes, you are correct, your Team did lack the effort to point out any Employee Handbook from day one at both your Corporate office where I originally applied and your Smart Saver location in the Norman area. However, I did make it a point to leave mine behind after I finished reading it on my breaks because it was made out to be such a hassle that I even requested one... as it has also come up again that way below in you response to me.So thank you for reminding me of all the hard work I went through not just to bring customers the best customer service I could possible but also the grief I had to catch for requesting this handbook 3 weeks after being hired and already signing an Employee Handbook Acknowledgement. I'm sure this Hank guy is a guy but I never saw it, again I never met him either. I saw several people from all over on one occasion but sadly enough I must report not a single one of them was introduced to any employees including myself while I was there that day when I was still employed. You guys are certainly "different" I'll give you that, perhaps adopting some better communication skills would be in your #1 Guests best interest as well. Just a friendly tip!!

I shop at the store at 23rd and council. I love the people there. They are hard working and always friendly. What don't understand is why you shut down the service counter. Other stores still have them. Why not the store I use?

Working at Buy For Less was the best decision I ever made. The company's culture is amazing! If you don't get pumped by rapidly changing priorities and hard work, this is probably not the place for you.

I have been debating on leaving a review here, but after today that decision was made for me. I worked for this company for 18 years was terminated almost 3 months ago. Have seen the ups and downs of this company during my employment with them. A lot of the changes were okay but most were just bad. I worked hard was loyal with an almost perfect attendance, I could literally do anything at store level including management. This company says its respects hard work and dedication but that is only what they say. They will turn on you in a sec. The managers are sub par and are so afraid of asking corp any questions that they suffer through their day wondering if they will have a job the next day because they havnt made their numbers. I have seen the threats that this Christian based company sends to its management as I was a manager for several years. I made one mistake they terminated me, no chance to redeem myself, and I reached out to the retirement company to see about my 401k only to find out they havnt finished my termination FROM THREE MONTHS AGO. This company has been getting rid of most of their long time employees for a while now. I have seen them terminate people who have been there since the beginning of this company's start(20+ years). I know Hank as well as his family and I have always had a somewhat decent respect for him. But he has been so out of touch with his stores he doesnt even go into them much any more because he is so busy with the uptowns. The people he has running the company now are a bunch of bullies that intimidate and put fear in the employees mind. If you are looking for a quick job that you wont put roots down in, then this is a great revolving door to go through. If you want a steady career look somewhere else. If you get on their bad side they will cut your hours to almost nothing forcing you to quite so they dont have to pay out unemployment. The HR team is a joke...and they change policy at a whim or if they get a new idea on how to screw the employees over they will. My name was and probably still is a commonly used name because everyone knew me. I have worked in all the stores at some point in time while I was with them, I knew all the managers as well as the corporate employees. If you were to talk to 90% of the people employed at store level you will see a group of employees that are extremely unhappy. As of this review their HR department still has not contacted me after several hours of me calling to inquire about why my termination has not been finalized. Even now three months after they terminated me I am still having to deal with their sub par HR who apparently cant even terminate their employees all they way, 4 weeks of paid vacation time...still had two weeks left...wont see that either because the corporate office doesnt care about the employees only what they can squeeze out of them for the least amount.
