Very friendly checkers. They actually walk you to the aisle you need. They also accept most manufacturers coupons

Went here for the first time and the experience was almost overwhelming. There was a tremendous amount of inventory and the prices were amazing! I will definitely be returning and I suggest to all my fellow veterans that can go to go. They shoot for a 25% savings on your grocery bill and I probably hit about a 46% on the items that we usually buy! Your VA ID as long as you are Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, or Service Connected, that will get you in to the gate on Air Depot , and the commissary is the huge building you can see to the left . ID works similar to that Sam or cost place. I don't know about bringing other people with you. I think you can check, one or two people as long as I have a "Real ID."

This place (my commissary) is my favorite place to shop so I give it 4 stars. Why then do I not rate it a 5? The only eggs I want to purchase, Vital Farms pasture raised black label is out of stock 9 times out of 10. You have hundreds of yellow carton eggs and blue cartons of eggs. They are always full to the brim stocked. Can you not make a small adjustment to keep my eggs in stock? Thank you in advance for anything you can do.

They let you on base.. but you can't shop at a store without your ID. The logic. ???. This is why the government should not make rules for humans.... There is no flexibility in real world situations... The people are unable to flex and authorize a sale of food of item because??? Idk why but they don't eather.. I feel like I'm watching who's on base what's on second where is first ? good luck Air Force Good luck...

I enjoy shopping at the commissary during the week. Weekends are super busy. It's clean, well organized and I do save on most items.

I was doing self-checkout and I couldn’t scan the barcode on an item. I asked the worker for some assistance and she told me to do her job. She told me to enter the item number. I entered the item number and had told her it didn’t work. She told another worker that they needed to do an item override. This other lady refused. Proceeded to tell me to do her job, by telling me to enter the item number again. I did. Then she tried it, it didn’t work. As we were finishing up paying, she told my daughter to return the shopping basket back from the counter. But she was very rude about it. The ladies that was working the self checkout was very rude to my daughter the entire time we were there. They refuse to do the job they applied for and bosses other people to do their job. They were very rude, instead of asking politely of putting the basket back it was just pure attitude and lack of respect. Their job is to literally customer service. Serve customer by helping them have a pleasant shopping experience. Yet, it was the complete opposite.

This is the best place for my family to shop. The prices are great. The staff love their jobs and it's always a pleasant experience. Gloria seems to always be the one who checks me out. She is the sweetest. We are Vegan, and they have all of our food there. One stop shop.

Edit from last years review: Just made a large pot of chicken soup to feed 6 people only to pour in the moldy tortellini that i bought from here today. Hasnt been the first time ive bought expired and moldy food to take home later to throw in the trash but this time after 2 hours wasting an entire pot of soup that i had guests over for makes me feel like a crappy host. Now my guests are on the way to grab pizza to bring back.
The 5 star reviews are fake. They all say the same lie
Got peta bread for gyros 2 days ago. Today the bread was moldy

Today 9/3/2024 Me (Civilian) , my wife and my mother -n- law went to the commissary to shop like I have 2-3 times before with no problem but this time was different, we were shopping as usual but whenever we got to the self checkout my CAC CARD didn't work which made me call for assistance, we alerted one cashier which turned into two cashier's which turned into three cashier's before we could even get a store manager, the problem was me being a CIVILIAN, a CIVILIAN that has been employed by the Air force for 10 yrs now, for the last 10 yrs I have worked on the B1bomber, b52, e3, e6, c130, kc46 and the kc135 but cant buy groceries from the commissary, to make a long story short the store manager put all of my groceries back because i was a CIVILIAN instead of scanning his cac card just this once to save me and my family the embarrassment of being rejected infront of military soldiers and beyond waiting in line all because I am a CIVILIAN... THAT HURT

Largest commissary that I have ever shopped in. It was disappointing that there wasn't any coupon pamphlets. A few items I just could not find however it was just my first time to this location. The checkout lady and the baggers were very helpful.

Recently I got hired on base (I’m a civilian) and I got my own CAC card and everything. Ive shopped here multiple times but today at the self checkout I was told I couldn’t shop at the commissary since I’m a civilian. Again I’ve shopped here multiple and I’ve been told I can shop here. The employee that was at the self checkout when I went was very rude and told me with attitude that I can’t shop here since I’m a civilian which even other customers were looking at us because she was so rude. I don’t know her name but she had glasses, she’s white, short hair, and older. She then called her manager over which her manager was very nice the whole time. She explained to me that she hasn’t received anything saying that civilians were allowed to shop at the commissary. I which then told her manager that I was able to shop there before with my CAC card and the other employee interrupts the conversation saying “then the employee didn’t really check your ID”…. first of all, it is NOT my responsibility for your employees and coworkers to make sure they’re doing their job correctly. Second, I was never rude or had attitude which also caught me off guard as well. Then after when the manager left, the employee came back and said the SAME THING her manager told me…. like I understood the manager the first time… I dont even care that I can’t shop at the commissary. I’m more upset about how that one employee was rude to me.

The store was real clean and well stocked. The prices are about the same as a regular retail store. There is a surcharge and a user-fee that is add so the no tax benefit is some what diminished but if you are going to stock up your house then it would be worth it.

It's a beautiful store. Living off base I often weigh the odds of shopping at the commissary versus any clivian store. For me, it's not much of a difference because of the service fee instead of tax. If I'm already on base or have to go, I shop there, but if I'm off base, I use the regular stores.
