I had to do an emg test and the doctor stabbed them into me deeper than what was needed and shocked me more as well. He didn't care that it was painful and just played it off. I truly know he enjoyed this mistreatment. It took me a while to think of what I should do about this, but he was an Asian doctor. This is not how veterans should be treated.

I've seen more effort in the Special Olympics than in the pharmacy.

Please please please! Hire aids, techs that have at least bedside manner and patients. These Men and women have faught hard for us. My dad was treated very rudely by an ultrasound technician in radiology today, and I'm very upset and irritated that a grown man cannot just be polite and if need be Fake being nice! Geez the tech told my dad he didn't need to hear anything about my dad's condition. And was rude and not nice! I understand you are "just" a technician well then that means you be the Best ultrasound technician there is! Please do better!

I would like to thank the wonderful people at this VA. I have never in my life received better health care from people who truly care. That being said, "the OKC VA is miles ahead because they care about Veterans so much that everyone that took care of me ALWAYS had a smile, and their heart is devoted to us. Once again, THANK YOU teams, and I salute you.

For any veteran not registered at the VA hospital or local clinics I highly recommend you sign up, get your ID, and use primary care for at least your annual blood work and health evaluations. Most of the time I get really good care. Good to get assigned doctors that stick with you. See note below on Women's Clinic.I only have problems when it's a doctor training for their specialty: either they want to try something completely new or if your symptoms are mild, they have a tendency to explain them away and not do anything. Make sure to try to make appointments to see the same overseeing specialty doctor for consistency, and bring a copy of your records from the visit before to review with the "New" student doctor. (Neurology is the worst in consistency.... Ugh.)If you are female, I **HIGHLY** recommend signing up for the Women's Clinic for your Primary Care. Dr Jagtap, and every other backup doctor I've seen there are awesome! Also, vision, Mental Health classes, and dental are worth visiting, especially if you are eligible. If you aren't sure, go talk to the departmental front desk. :-)For those complaining about the building itself:They have slowly started getting funding and have been doing upgrades so it's not a scary 1950-1960 building where electroshock therapy might have been done. Modernizing as they go. (We have nice gray "wood" laminate and new floor trim now.) Also, the hospital was not built all at once, so they have had to get creative on upper floors with connecting the new hallways to the old. The popular departments, they have been working on moving to the ground floor, or consolidating on a multifunction clinic area upstairs.I also recommend getting registered for the MyHealthEVet portal. Once they get your departments registered with your profile, you can send "secure messaging" (emails in the portal) instead of leaving voicemails by phone that might get lost. :-( You can also submit travel pay claims, renew your medications, look up your appointments, message your primary care doctor for referrals to other departments without going in, if you stay updated with them. (Sometimes they still need to see you in person.)They also have a 24/7 nurses line you can call, and telehealth video appointments are available for some departments, just ask. You may be able to have a video call with your provider. Also, some VA clinics outside the hospital can see you, depending on the department you need, and can see you faster. There is a North general clinic, and a North Dental clinic, one on the South side, and one in Yukon. Finally, if it will be longer to see someone than you want when scheduling, when getting a referral from your doctor, ask if there are community care providers that can review and treat your issue. There are many options for treatment I didn't know about for 20 years, and it's taken me forever to figure it all out, but maybe this review can help someone.Don't give up. If nothing else, get registered, sign up for MyHealthEVet portal, get logged in and verified, and request patient advocate and social worker be added to your list so they can help direct you. <3Be well.

I have been useing the OKC VA hospital care, clinic care, and VA community care, all as my primary care provider since i got out in 2008. I have received nothen but the best care. I have mutiple providers for each of my conditions and even still receiving continueing diagnostic care to identify new problems and addressing those needs. I am 100% satisified with my care.

Gave 10 years of my life to this country. My doctor drops me and now I can't get anymore pills. Now I'm going through withdrawal and suicidal thoughts every second of the day. They could care less and you wonder why veterans kill themselves every day!

Dr. Kelley fitted me with new hearing aids and they are fantastic. This is the first time I've used the VA since I retired and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

I gave 3 stars for the overall quality of the facility. I withheld 2 stars because it should be considered medically negligent how POORLY they feed the patients. See photo? That is what passes as an entire breakfast for a 49 year old 6'3" 245lbs man!

The place is fine to go to if you don't have anything seriously wrong. If you do, beware! The VA has known about a lung mass I have had since January 5, 2023, when I had a chest X-ray at the facility. My medical records stated "likely metastatic lung cancer". I still have no official diagnosis even though the doctors have said they are certain it is cancer. The doctors are more concerned with assigning blame to others and covering their asses than treating their patients. My primary care physician had refused to refer me to another cancer facility. She had told my daughter that I wasn't taking my condition seriously. I say the VA isn't taking my medical condition seriously or I would have had a diagnosis by now! My primary provider (Jyoti Jagtaf) tried to blame me for not going to an appointment that was double booked and then cancelled. I told her that usually when an appointment was cancelled, that means not to come. I'm the meantime, this cancer is growing in my chest. I can feel there is something seriously wrong. I used to jokingly say "they are trying to kill me", I'm starting to believe they are. There have been multiple incidents of ineptitude starting with a cardiologist (Mohan Edupuganti) wanting to do a procedure to remove fluid from the lining of my heart blind when the procedure is usually done via ultrasound. He said the procedure was very dangerous too. I opted to find out more info before making a decision. I didn't receive my so important blood thinners when I was discharged from the hospital for 3 days. When I went to pick them up at the pharmacy, they said they had been mailed out. My doctors office called the me the next day to ask if I had received them, I said no. She called the pharmacy, they said they were still sitting on the top shelf. When I went to pick them up, the tech gave me a hard time, saying counseling was required. I was in the hospital for observation as I had blood clots in my lungs. The VA could have caused me to have a pulmonary embolism since I didn't have the meds.

My mom was told she has a mass in her lung over a month ago and Dr. Jagtaff and his team screwed up the biopsy, told her they wanted to do really risky medical procedures without standard ultrasound visualization which would reduce risk. It has been a month and my mom has still not received any sort of diagnosis or answers. He is also refusing to refer my mom to a better facility, Stephenson Cancer center until she repeats the botched procedures with him. She does not want to waste any more time. They are liable for malpractice if they don't refer her out soon. They also screwed up her medications, messed up her appointments, oh and they forgot to feed her when she was staying in the hospital with them. I am thankful for the staff at the VA who actually have seemed to care and have been trying to help me handle the situation with Dr. Jagtaff but apparently the doctors suck here or perhaps they are overworked or something.

Absolutely amazing doctor and staff / nurses … Oklahoma trauma center across the way was horrible to a veteran in trauma - but the Va hospital was just beyond words amazing they talked with us , worked through all medicalIssues , professional and empathetic- I just can’t say enough ( and we where treated as out of state visitors ) just not enough great things to say about them thank you so much
