There's a lot to see at the museum, however, it is about 80% Professional Rodeo history. Being called the Ben Jonson Museum is a bit deceiving. The majority is not about him. There are a lot of displays and information if you are into rodeo history.

This is a top notch museum, not only of the famous local cowboy turned movie star, Ben Johnson, but also a museum of great Oklahoma cowboys and cowgirls. It displays the history of the Drummond family and the Drummond ranches and several other local ranches. You will also see displays for Charla Hartness, World Champion barrel racer and other rodeo icons. The museum isn't free, but it is well worth the cost of admission

It's what you would expect a museum to be. Located in Pawhuska, Osage County, OK. Location of the events occurring during the time of Osage Reign of Terror (on which the book and movie "Killers of the Flower Moon" is based). The proprietor told us additional stories not included in the book.Amazing artwork by Western artist John Free. I believe he was on par with Frederick Remington and Charles Russell. All sorts of authentic items used by cowboys (and cowgirls), outlaws and lawmen.Of course, the big draw is Ben Johnson, cowboy and actor. Numerous photos, posters, and items worn or used by him. I don't think we realized the scope of his acting career. It's definitely worth the price of admission. Note: This museum is not federally or state funded.

Nice but a lot more than just Ben Johnson. Guess you'd have to be a cowboy to understand it all

I went in to check it out and told Anna that my husband and dogs were waiting in the truck. She said as long as the dogs don’t bark they can come in. The dogs are small and we mostly carried them. We really enjoyed the museum. At one point Anna gathered all of the patrons in the museum and talked about the museum, Ben Johnson, and the Osage. Also about the movie being made in town based on the book Killers of the Flower Moon. It was interesting and added a lot to the experience!
