Fabulous history in one of the oldest theaters in America! The seats were not the most comfortable but overall, it felt like we walked into the 1920s. Enjoy!!

Needs a lot of repairs, seats are very small and dated.

Very accommodating. The people running the theater were very friendly, very professional. It's unfortunate there was no sound person, but whoever ended up working it, did a pretty good job.

Such a beautiful building. Wish you had more things going on. Loved the idea of the film about the OC looping every 20 mins.

The Constantine Theater is a throwback to vaudeville and it's glory days. It was originally built in the 1880's and still survives today. When C.C. Constantine bought the theater in 1919, he wanted to bring opera to the wild west oil field town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He brought six opera shows from the New York Metropolitan Opera during 1919-1920. As a promoter, and when times change...true promoters turn to what works and makes money. So, he started bringing in vaudeville acts, motion pictures, live theater, an "onstage circus," The Constantine closed in 1970, but a local group from Pawhuska saved and rehabbed the grand old Constantine in 1987. Live theater, regional and national musical acts, and yes...ballet has been the acts that are now calling the Constantine home. The renovated Constantine is beautiful, and a great place to witness "live entertainment." I have seen several musical acts play at the Constantine, and have found there isn't a bad seat in the 589 seat auditorium. When in Pawhuska...treat yourself to a show in a true historical theater!

Great stories to hear about the history of pawhuska. The man that gave us the tour was very knowledgeable. We got a good idea of how it was and how it has been refurbished. Really nice to see and old building with so much history still be a part of a community and further provide entertainment.
