There is real Mexican food in Pawnee, Oklahoma.First of all I am a little biased toward small town mom and pop operations/small businesses that are working to scratch out a living. They don’t always have the newest buildings or furnishings of the big city chain operations. But, if they can put a good meal on the table with reasonably attentive and courteous service then count me in!Lindo Veracruz did just that. They put a good meal on the table with reasonably attentive and courteous service. You will get a little chuckle when you see their hand painted “Mexican Restaurant” sign with the arrow pointing across the street to the restaurant. The outside of the restaurant looks a little rough. It is clean inside. The owner had all of the lights and ceiling fans turned off, I guess to save energy. Nothing is wrong with trying to save energy. There was plenty of light coming through the windows (that desperately needed washing). They had a couple of box fans running to keep the air moving and keep the restaurant at a comfortable temperature. The food was good! Starting with the salsa, it had a nice amount of heat and the flavors were good. My wife had the chicken enchiladas. The chicken in the enchiladas was seasoned and covered with a spicy green sauce. It had great flavors with a little heat. It came with beans and rice.I had the carne asada. It came with grilled onion slices, beans and rice. I ordered a chili toreado to go with it. When the lady set the plate on the table it came with a table knife, as opposed to a steak knife to cut the steak. I was thinking this is going to be a challenge. But, it wasn’t. The steak was a very thin cut of beef (probably sirloin) cut across the grain. It was easy to cut with the table knife. It was a good average carne asada. I enjoyed it.If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

Understaffed. Slow to take orders, slow to bring out food. Food was disappointing.

It's actually amazing if you love lukewarm raw shrimp and paying a different price every time for the same thing!

Variable times are busy, but you don't have too much of a wait and the foods always good.

I like this place. I always eat here when in Pawnee. The food is not Tex-Mex, but I prefer it to Tex-Mex. Maybe it's authentic Mexican.

A nice tucked away authentic Mexican restaurant. Located in Pawnee Oklahoma. The food was really good the service was great and the atmosphere was cozy. I do recommend them, stop in and have the enchiladas Supreme, it was quite tasty and as you can see by my completely empty plate that I was satisfied.

The food is pretty good but be prepared for them to make up a price when you're paying at the end. Despite what the menu price is, when you go to pay they will make up a price.

We were the only people there and the service was terrible. I guess we should have known since no one was there and the lights were off. The queso was lukewarm and the taco salad was a joke. It was a kid sized shell with about 7 small slices of lettus and a pinch of cheese. The meat had no taste and neither did the salsa. Then I was astonished at the price of our lunch too. Comical. Welp, you live and learn. If only you could give no stars.

The portions were small for the price. Granddaughter went away hungry.
