Little corner lot with so many different kinds of windmills. From Illinois and was so cool to see so many from my home state.

Nice place to visit. Who knew there could be such an interesting museum in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Very nice people showed us around.

What an amazing experience. There is just something magical about all those windmills whirring in a united chorus as the wind meanders through the aged structures. Shattuck is not exactly on the way to anywhere but it is well worth the drive to the Windmill Museum. Get off I-40 and head north on HWY 283 to see this genuine historic treasure. Maybe along the way you can stop at the Washita Battlefield National Historic Site. There is so much more to see and learn if you are willing to invest the time.

Super cute windmill museum with a 1901 period house and half sod house. Ginger is very sweet as well as the other volunteer who let us in to see the 1901 house.

Just happened upon this outdoor museum while passing thru OK. It was a pleasant and interesting find. In a park like setting, very well maintained, accepting donations only and a guest book where you note where you are from. Benches and picnic tables to sit a while. Tune your radio to 90.3 while there to hear the history, etc of windmills.

Shattuck Windmill Museum is a true find for a road weary traveler looking to stretch their legs. Not only is it a world class display of windmills many of the exhibits are one of a kind and a true testament to the ingenuity and determination of the American Pioneer / Indians. Calling this a windmill museum is not really a fair account for all it offers. While yes it is mostly windmills and definitely deserves the moniker it should be mentioned that there are several interesting items on display. This like any area of Oklahoma that is a big field will have stickers so just be aware of that before you go tramp around in sandals out there and where closed toe shows and get as many off of you BEFORE you get in your car. Don't pass it up if you're in the area.

When getting off the interstate road system and viewing America from the side roads you find the most interesting places in America that shows the history of our great nation. This windmills park is one such place. We really enjoyed seeing the various types. The cutest part of all are the small signs on the highway side of the park. The cows were thirsty, the sheep were too, they got there water when the wind blew????

I went there in October 2020 they were closed as far as gift shop and anything that included going inside. But I still felt totally in aww of this place! Beautiful, peaceful and unique! I actually posted a YouTube video on this. I hope I got what little info I gave on my video correct. Definitely a place worth seeing!!

So glad we happened upon this gem of an experience as we wandered across America avoiding Interstates. These folks were so charming and have a wonderful way of teaching you the history of windmills in the "armpit" of Oklahoma.I would encourage you to get off of the interstate and experience Americana at its finest at the Shattuck Windmill Museum. The photo with the arge windmill was taken a few miles west on 412 after visiting so I thought I'd share it too for context.

Really interesting historical stop. Make sure you listen on your radio the back story of windmills!
