My honest review for Best Buy – Stillwater, Oklahoma, especially for international students:
Best Buy, as always, keeps up its name when it comes to electronics trusted, reliable, and organized across most locations. This Stillwater branch was no different when it came to professionalism and cleanliness.
But there’s something that always stays the same across stores and not in the best way.
As someone who values hands-on experience before making a decision, I was disappointed to see that most of the mobile phones and headphones were hard-locked, making it almost impossible to view or hold them in a 360° view. You can’t really feel the comfort of the earbuds or headphones, or check out the design of a phone beyond a fixed front display which is very limiting, especially when you’re trying to compare between models.
Even the demo boards set up for trying out earphones were either powered off or not functional this was during working hours, not even close to store closing time. I did check with a store staff member, and they confirmed the demo setup wasn’t working at that time. For customers like us who walk in wanting to experience the sound quality before spending our limited savings, this really takes away from the excitement.
Now, on the positive side, I’ve always trusted Best Buy more than stores like Walmart when it comes to electronics because they focus more on the value and trust towards the customer. And of course, their product protection plans and warranties are always highlighted as a major bonus.
I recently learned about their Best Buy Totaltech Membership a subscription-based plan (around $150/year) that covers repairs and replacements for electronics purchased from Best Buy.
While that might work for families or professionals, for international students like me, this is just too heavy to afford every year. It would really help if Best Buy could consider student-friendly warranty plans or discounts on these subscriptions something that’s genuinely helpful and tailored for people like us who rely on them but have to be careful with every dollar spent.
Final Thought
I’ll still visit Best Buy, but I really hope they consider improving the demo experience and offer better affordability options especially for students and budget buyers. That extra care would mean a lot.
We bought AirPods Pro2, beats Fit Pro, Apple Watch series 10 black and a Tagrus Laptop bag that evening..

My wife got a computer as a present from her parents it didn't work we took it back to exchange it but they told us there would be a 500.00 restock fee so we only had 75 percent of the money they had paid left to get another. We had not gone back for over 10 years but we needed something for the foster kid before he went back to mom so reluctant we tried best buy again this experience was no better.

One of the most unhelpful Best Buy’s yet. Unfortunately, unless we want to drive an hour to the city it’s our only option here. We walked in and asked where phone cases for a specific phone were. The guy told us where they would be then walked off. He failed to tell us that they do not keep them in stock in that phone style that it is just a bunch of empty hooks. So after looking through everything that was there for 5 mins we asked if they actually had any in that style and they told us no. So he lead us to a place knowing what we were looking for and knowing they wouldn’t have it. The geek squad has NEVER fixed an issue I’ve had with a computer. I’ve taken several in and they are less than helpful. They do all the same things I have already done and then go sorry nothing we can do. If you have the time, don’t waste it here. Drive to Tulsa or OKC!

Staff was helpful, but they didn't carry much in stock. When I ordered the IPad I wanted they told me I would have to sign up for their Plus membership to get two day shipping. When I tracked the package it showed it sat in a store 120 miles away before the carrier picked it up ensuring it would not arrive in two days. The staff was awesome, but not at all impressed with the corporation.

Experience was so so.
One employee was helpful and awesome. I came back in a few min. Later and young employees were in circle chatting it up looking at phones, it's 2024 I get it but, the lack of help that time was

Or Titanic. The price and selection were decent enough.
I would go back if needed but need to get the kiddos off the phones to help customers everytime. This was the Stillwater store.
