Very good experience. David was compasionate and helpful planning services for our mother's funeral. He and his staff were supportive and attentative to our grief. They took care of everything from creating a video from photos, printing the funeral service folders, coordinating with our parent's church pastor, to preparing the graveside services 2 hours away. And might I say in not so favorable weather. Thank you David and staff. It was nice to meet you all. We appreciate your help.

This funeral home has dealt with my family on two separate occasions. This last one in August of 2024, was as simple as the first. My relative wanted a simple cremation. We purchased an urn for her not from this funeral home.
First off, the phone calls were detailed about what will happen. We scheduled a day to meet and sign papers. When we met, David is who helped us. We brought everything needed for their records. We also brought the urn. David again expressed his condolences as we sat for our meeting.
Before signing papers, David would go over in detail what we were signing and stop for questions. Afterward, we were given a time frame for when we could come back to gain possession of the remains. This took a short 3 days. We arrived, signed for the remains, and David made sure we did not have any more questions before we left. The urn had no damage to it and was cared for as well as we were.
Overall my experience was adequate. I enjoyed how David and his staff coordinated the operation. I did not experience anything negative that others claimed in their reviews.

They have handled my family in the past so I called to make arrangements for my parents future needs. I wasn’t overly impressed with the past services, but they were completed and a familiar local firm. When I called the director was rude and condescending and not helpful at all. I was horrified when I hung up the phone. I have waited several days to be sure I still felt the interaction was over the top, and I still feel it was. I am here to tell not only the owner of this company how unacceptable this interaction was with his staff, but everyone else who may come here to read these reviews. Buyer beware if they treat the living with this much disrespect and contempt I can only imagine how they treat the deceased.There isn’t room for bad days and bad behavior in the death care industry. The client should NEVER be treated the way I was. I couldn’t imagine ever having to deal with these people again so I went to Hart Funeral Home and wrote our pre-need contacts with them. So thankful I wasn’t in immediate need of services I would’ve been devastated and lost.

Unethical behavior. Does not comply with state code of ethics. Having to get authorities involved. I see some good reviews but I would never want to gamble with a loved one after they pass. The grieving process is hard enough there is no need to take a risk with this company. I would not be surprised if the good reviews are just from friends to try and help him out.

Lots of problems. Name was incorrectly spelled on obituary (twice), grave marker, headstone and death certificate. I was not listed as wife, which complicated getting corrections made. I had to get will from out of state and marriage license from 100+ miles away to prove I was the wife and entitled to make changes. Owner/Funeral Director was extremely rude and unhelpful. Acted like it was all my fault -- even though I had given them written copies with the correct spelling. All they had to do was cut and paste the obituary, but they chose to retype, changing the text, with lots of typos and grammatical errors. They THIRD time the obit was sent to the newspaper, they FINALLY did just cut and paste. I had to take documents to Social Security, Health Department, VA to get all the name changes corrected. They also put a bunch slides in the video (which I paid $200 for) promoting/marketing their own business.

David and his staff have taken complete care of my family's needs for many years. Wife, brother, uncle, mother, father, grandfather and friends. Very professional, sympathetic and will do what you ask. Always makes our loved ones look at peace. I would highly recommend.

I have always felt David and his staff was loving and caring. All family members who have been placed in David’s care have always looked wonderful. All services have been exceptionally well executed. My mother passed last week and her husband and I were going to have closed coffin until we saw how beautiful she was. An uncle, an aunt, a cousin, and my mother-in-law have been taken care of by GreenCountry Funeral Home and I have nothing but praise of the professionalism and exceptional high quality skills from David and his staff.
